Catch a movie at the cinema
Make sure you show your student ID at Palace Cinema to get a $13 student ticket or visit on a Monday when all tickets are only $10!

Visit the Byron Bay Library
Not only is our library a beautiful space to relax and keep warm, it also has an independent exhibition space for local artists attached. Check out The Lone Goat Gallery‘s facebook page to see what they have showing at the moment.

If you are over the age of 18 you could go on a Brewery or Gin Distillery Tour
(Where they make gin and beer)
Stone & Wood Brewery is located in The Arts & Industrial Estate. You can catch the solar train there for only $4 and then the friendly team at the Sun Bistro are able to drop you at the Brewery. A tour is $25 and includes beer tasting. To make a booking visit their website:

The Byron Bay Brewery is closer to town, located beside the Arts Factory and open from Wednesday to Sunday. The tour usually starts about 2pm. They also host a fantastic ‘Open Mic Night’ every Wednesday and many other great gigs. Come and see me at reception for a discount coupon for a beer and burger deal and keep an eye on their Facebook page for upcoming events:

Cape Byron Gin Distillery is out in Byron Bay’s beautiful hinterland and offer tours every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tours are $35 and bookings are essential.

Visit a Day Spa
Buddha Gardens Day Spa is close to town (by the Arts Factory and Byron Bay Brewery) and has an outdoor garden area with heated plunge pool and sauna. It costs $35 for 1 hour or free with a massage or facial. It is recommended to call and book in advance.

Kiva Spa is another relaxing destination, it is slightly further away in Mullumbimby, but it is worth the journey. Kiva has a lush garden setting with sauna’s, steam rooms and hot pools to relax in. 1 hour costs $25.

Sometimes when it’s raining its the perfect chance to catch a wave without the usual crowds. Just make sure you check the conditions before you paddle out.
