Soccer Match! Lexis vs. BBELS ⚽. December 11th

Yesterday’s activity was a soccer match against Byron Bay English Language School (BBELS). This is always a fun activity where students get to meet new people, practice English and have a ball (pun intended) while doing it!

Each half was played for 25 minutes, which on such a hot day, is long enough! In the end, Team Lexis came out on top 1-0 but both teams equaled in effort. Well done everyone!

Claudia says her positive attitude and outgoing personality, as well as her thoughtfulness to others, has made her an absolute pleasure to teach. We wish you the very best for the future, we are sure you’ll go far!

Hikaru, from Japan, graduates from Kristy’s Intermediate class. It has been lovely getting to know him over the past 2 weeks; he is very eager to learn and immerse himself in the Australian lifestyle! We are glad this isn’t goodbye as Hikarua will start our Cambridge course next week!

Elena, from Switzerland, graduates from Michelle’s Pre-Intermediate class. Michelle loved having her in the class, saying she was a lovely student with a good attitude and great humour. She has come such a long way from when she first started just 5 weeks ago, and graduates with a well deserved A! Best wishes for the future Elena!

Hyogeun (Eddy), from Korea, graduates from Michelle’s Pre-Intermediate class. Michelle has really enjoyed teaching him and said he was always friendly with everyone in class and good to have a conversation with. His pronunciation and speaking has improved a great deal during his time with us, along with his grammar and spelling. Wishing you all the best for the future!

Adrienne loved having her in class and says she was very happy that she worked so well with anyone she was paired with in class and that she could easily communicate with people from all different cultures. Congratulations to our twenty nine students who graduated Lexis Byron Bay last week!

We said farewell to seventeen students and ‘see you soon’ to twelve students who also graduated from their General English courses but will return to us after the Christmas break to start their Cambridge courses!

Michelle, from Switzerland, graduates from Claudia’s Upper Intermediate class. She has made excellent progress during her 13 weeks with us, quickly progressing from Pre-Intermediate. She was a diligent and hard working student and should be very proud of all her achievements. Best wishes for the future Michelle, it was lovely to have met you!

Christelle, from Switzerland, graduates from Claudia’s Upper Intermediate class. She is a conscientious and hard working student who was always happy to contribute in class discussions. She always participated actively and asked interesting questions to further understand and improve her English. We wish you the very best for the future Christelle!

Naiara, from Brazil, graduates from Claudia’s Upper Intermediate class. She has worked hard and was always enthusiastic and ready to learn. Karsten, from Germany, graduates from Claudia’s Upper Intermediate class. His time with us has also been very short, just 1 week, after joining us from Lexis Brisbane. Alya, from Bali, graduates from Michelle’s Pre-Intermediate class. It has been a joy to have her here with us at Lexis! She has been a very polite, positive and kind student. Michelle really enjoyed the enthusiasm and creativity she brought to class. We hope you enjoyed your time here and we see you in Byron again one day!

Izumi, from Japan, graduates from Michelle’s Pre-Intermediate class. She has made brilliant progress in her short 6 weeks with us, starting in Elementary and graduating Pre-Intermediate with an A! Well done Izumi, all your hard work and efforts have paid off! Good luck for the future!

Asana, from Japan, graduates from Michelle’s Pre-Intermediate class. She has made excellent progress in all areas of her English during her 12 weeks with us. When she arrived she could barely have a conversation but now she can easily express herself and is always lovely to talk with. We wish you all the best for the future Asana!

Catalina, from Chile, graduates from Michelle’s Pre-Intermediate class. Michelle says she has a great attitude and humour and has really loved having her in class. She should be very proud of all the progress she has made, particularly with her speaking and grammar. Best wishes Catalina, you will be missed!

Fuku, from Japan, graduates from Mel and Julia’s Intermediate class. It has been an absolute pleasure having her here for the second year in a row! She is a very interesting and interested person who made an effort to talk with all other students and staff. She was an excellent student who worked hard to improve her English. Her positive attitude was always appreciated in class and she will be missed by all! We hope to see you again next year Fuku!

Pinky (Jinyapa), from Thailand, graduates from Mel and Julia’s Intermediate class. She is a lovely, positive, friendly student who made a lot of friends during her time with us. Her knowledge of grammar is excellent, and it’s no surprise she graduates with a well deserved A! Good luck with your yoga course in Melbourne, we hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Australia!

Daniel (Bartosz), from Poland, graduates from Paul’s Advanced class. He has only been at Lexis a short 2 weeks but Paul really enjoyed having him in class. His command of the English language is excellent and across all skill areas he’s shown himself to be competent. He made valuable contributions to lessons and the class will all miss his enthusiasm and sense of humour. Luckily this is not goodbye as he will return to us in September for the Cambridge course!

Isabella, from Brazil, graduates from Paul’s Advanced class. She has made brilliant progress since first starting at Lexis in January, working her way up from Pre-Intermediate all the way to Advanced! Well done to Song for maintaining 100% attendance for an astounding 24 weeks!!!

He started in our Elementary class with very little English, and with his exceptional attendance and hard work has made brilliant progress in all areas!

We thought this deserved being recognised, so awarded him a certificate and 6 pack of beer to enjoy!

Well done to Andi who achieved 100% on his progress test this week!

Andi is from Switzerland and has been studying at Lexis Byron Bay for just three weeks so far, and will be staying with us for another nine. He has impressed his teacher and class and one of his classmates thinks that, with these results, he will be moving up from Pre-Intermediate to the Cambridge class in no time!
