Indoor Picnic and Wii! December 13th

Today we unfortunately had to cancel the Beach Picnic due to the weather! As sad as it was to cancel this mornings activity, it was a much needed respite to have rain in Byron Bay ⛈️

However we did have an Indoor Picnic instead!

Not many people showed up because of the rain, though a student who was walking past came inside for a little snack 😋

He was the instigator that lured others to join in!

Soon enough a class had turned up 🙈

Thankfully their teacher was understanding and for a few short minutes used this time as part of a lesson!

Today didn’t turn out as expected, nevertheless we still had fun!

It’s finally raining here at Lexis Byron Bay! However, we were supposed to have a Beach Picnic this morning!

Coffee Club ☕ December 9th

Recently we’ve introduced Coffee Club on a Monday afternoon at Lexis Byron Bay! ☕

Or in Christian’s case today, ‘tea time’. He even had his little pinky finger out for the occasion 😋

Fabian joined in with a coffee.

And Eglantine had a mocha for the first time with us. She doesn’t usually like coffee, though this one was okay because it had chocolate in it too! 🍫

The game of choice today was Jenga with the questions on each piece.

There were fiery conversations about some of the topics that came up! Examples that stirred debate we’re about politics and the death penalty. However, it was nicer to speak about trivial subject matters like our dream holiday destination or our favourite flavours of ice-cream! 🍦

Another stunning winter’s afternoon yesterday for Coffee Club <3

Thank you Luc for reminding everyone of the rules and thank you to Monica for offering support to everyone who needed a helping hand.. you make a great ‘Uno Coach’ 😉

Long may this beautiful winter weather last. We are so lucky <3 Enjoy everyone!

Make sure you come and sign up at reception for our awesome activities for the rest of the week. All activities are free and start at 2pm!

Today we have H.I.I.T Pilates in Room 8, tomorrow we have Aussie Food Tasting in Room 1 and Friday we have our monthly Table Tennis Tournament.. with of course, beers to be won!

On Tuesday we had Coffee Club where I (Orla) got to learn how to play Uno! It is such a fun game and the Lexis students were very good and very patient in teaching me. I’m already looking forward to the next one!

It was a rainy day here in Byron, making Coffee Club the perfect activity!

We all warmed up with some coffees accompanied with Tim Tams.

It was great to see lots of our new students there getting to know eachother!

We may soon have to rename ‘Coffee Club’ ‘Uno Club’, as whenever I ask what game the students would like to play this is always the winner!

Myself and regular players Lydie, Charlotte and Maya were joined today by Haruki, Han, Choi and Maxime, who started Lexis just yesterday but is already settling in very well and making friends!

Coffee Lounge! 29th August

Yesterday at Coffee Lounge we enjoyed coffees and Tim Tams in the sun!

We played a couple of games of Uno, which Yurij and Elisa won!

Then Jenga with questions, with me being the first for it to fall on, after I’d already tripped backwards over the box of coffees knocking them over the floor , followed by spilling my water all over myself! Very clumsy day for me!! Let’s hope next week I manage Coffee Lounge without any accidents / embarrassments!

Coffee Club! 22nd March!

At last weeks Coffee Club myself, Andrea, Pol, Nil and Svenja played quite possibly the longest game of Uno in history!

We all had different ideas of how Uno should be played, which created a small bit of conflict but we got through it 🙂

After over an hour of playing and us each getting down to Uno numerous times, Nil walked away as the winner!!

Next time we can play the Swiss and/or Spanish rules to speed the game up!

Coffee Lounge! 7th March

It got quite competitive and everyone had different variations on the rules…..

but the clear overall winner was Alexandra, who done very well to win most of the games!
