Wednesday afternoon we had our monthly Table Tennis Tournament. It was a lovely sunny afternoon so we only had a small turn out, but it was still tight competition.
First up was Naoki vs Fabrice. It was a close game, with both competitors being equally as strong. In the end, Fabrice was the first to score 21 points and win the match. Next up was Fernanda vs Johnny..
Fernanda was July’s champion and also the runner up in June. She is a fierce competitor and hard one to beat! This month was no exception and she defeated both Johnny and Fabrice to win herself the 6 pack of beer!
Congratulations Fernanda!!
Keep an eye on next months calendar for a chance to compete for a 6 pack of ice cold beer and win the title of Table Tennis Champion for the month!

But there was still some fierce competition around!
Our first match was Fernanda vs Nanami.
Thank you to the wonderful Sagiri keeping track of the score. This round the winner was Fernanda!
The next match was Josefina vs Sagiri, with Josefina winning this round.
It was then Naoki vs myself. I started out strong but in the end, Naoki claimed the victory!
Our second heat was Fernanda vs Naoki and then Fernanda vs Josefina..
Fernanda was our undefeated champion for this month and took home the 6 pack prize!
Congratulations and well played!

Yesterday morning we held a table tennis tournament in the student lounge! It was the first VERY sunny day in quite some time, so we had a small group for our morning session. We reckon the others were at the beach! They missed out on all our fun 🙂 As there were only three students in the tournament, things got quite competitive (especially with the promise of beer for the winner). Here are the guys with their game face on, ready to go…
The all had some warm-up games first, before things got really serious…
Of course, there can only be one winner – Gilles! In fact, he was undefeated in all of his games! Well done Gilles. Some cold beers coming your way 🙂

We didn’t have as many competitors as usual as the sun was shining and the waves were good, so many of the students were heading to the beach for a surf!
Eric, Jeff, Ibon and Lucas couldn’t resist winning the cold beers though!
They each played against eachother to 11,
Eric VS Lucas: Eric11-7
Eric VS Jeff: Eric11-4
Jeff VS Ibon: Jeff11-3
Ibon VS Lucas: Ibon11-6
Jeff VS Lucas: Jeff11-4
Eric VS Ibon: Eric11-10
Then the points from each of their 3 games were added together to determined the winner…
Lucas: 17
Ibon: 24
Jeff: 26
and the winner with 33 points… Eric!!!
Eric did have a slight advantage being that he’s a tennis coach, but he kindly shared his beers so everyone was happy 🙂
