Clemente is from Chile. He comes from an amazing family and has an awesome relationship with his six brothers. He is currently studying business at the University of Chile. Since he was a small chile he has been practicing soccer and also loves to skate and surf. He wants to study English in Australia so he can improve his grammar and when he returns to Chile he will hopefully find a job where he can apply his English.
Ines is from Spain. Before coming to Australia she worked as a pre-school teacher as well as going to university. She will return to university next year to study psychology. Ines has always wanted to visit Australia as it was her dream destination and she thought it would be the best place to learn English. Her hobbies include going to the gym and meeting her friends.
Patrick is from Switzerland. He likes to run, surf, and snowboard. Back home he meets with friends every two weeks and they play different sports like workout circuits, athletics, and running. He studied to be an electrician for 3 years and now he works for a security firm where they make fire, video, and security systems. He programs and installs the systems for clients. He is in Australia to study English especially his vocabulary.
Paula is from Spain. She loves her family and has a special bond with her mother. The family loves to spend time together and make amazing food. She also loves to do sports especially tennis which she will play while here in Australia. Paula studied to be a sports teacher and has been working for a year in a school but realised that she wanted to travel. She is in Australia to study English but is also very excited about seeing this beautiful country.
Florence is from Switzerland. She’s had lots of experience in the travel and tourism industry. She was always fascinated about getting to know other cultures and dreamt of foreign places. She then fell in love with surfing and the game changed. Florence spent the next 6 months in Portugal and enjoyed spending most days at the beach. She’s also a big fan of swimming, a passion she shares with her sister.

Throughout the month we always have a variety of different activities, with a mix of sports, cooking, and craft, so there’s something for everyone, if you want more information please don’t hesitate to come and speak with me at reception! 🙂

The morning activity is held at 11.30am-12.30pm and the afternoon at 2-3pm.
There will be a yoga class on Monday at 7:45am and a new yoga class starting at 5:45pm

We continue our Coffee Club on Tuesdays and Monday afternoons; Join Siobhan or Di for coffee, Tim Tams, games, and conversations!
Yoga will be held every Monday morning with teacher Jimmy in room 8 at 7:45am and Tuesdays at 5:45pm with teacher Brooklyn. It’s a great way to start the week and it’s free for Lexis students.
Teacher Kristy runs a free Guided Meditation on Wednesday mornings between 8-8:30am in room 8. No experience needed, this group is open for everyone who has ever thought about giving meditation a go. Not only does Kristy guide you through a beautiful meditation, but there is also time to discuss the benefits and beliefs behind the practice. It is truly a beautiful way to start your day.

This week we welcome 10 new students to our campus at Lexis English Byron Bay!
Maria Teresa (Teia) is from Spain. In Barcelona, she studied social education, therapy dogs, and neurolinguistic programming. Her family lives in the mountains which is one hour from her flat where she lives with her dog. She came to Australia to learn English and also to live and work. Next year she plans to travel around Europe with her dog.
Franco is from Italy. His family owns a restaurant in Formentera, Spain but his birth country is Argentina. He has lived in Spain for 22 years. Franco came to Australia with his friends to learn English.
Irene is from Spain. Her hobbies include yoga, drawing, and cross country running. She studied to become a yoga teacher and works teaching yoga during the week. On the weekends she works in a bar. Irene dreams to speak better English which is why she came to Australia but is also here for the lifestyle.
Stefanie is from Brazil. She lives with her 10-year-old sister, mother, and lots of plants in Curitiba which is a beautiful and ecological city in the south of Brazil. She loves nature, ecology, and sustainable living. She has been working as a yoga teacher which is her other passion. She came to Australia because of the lifestyle, sun, beach, and Australian culture.
Bruna is from Brazil. She just completed her masters in natural sciences and is hoping to find work during her stay here in Australia. She loves to run, go to the beach and her daily practice of yoga. Australia was an easy choice for Bruna to study English because she grew up near the beach.
Ana is from Spain. She came to Byron Bay to learn English with her friend. She is a pilates instructor and is hoping to find a job here. She would like to speak better English so that she can communicate with everyone especially when teaching pilates.
Ivan is from Spain. He lives in Formentera which is a small island in the Mediterranean. He lives with his younger brother and mother and father. He studied mathematics, finance, and accounting. Ivan has been working for a rental car company since 2010. He is here to study English and is hoping to find work while he is here.
Alvaro is from Spain. He wanted to study in Australia because of the climate and to have an adventure. Once he has finished his studies at Lexis Byron Bay he wants to return to Formentera, where he will work and live with his family.

This week I caught up with Chiara one of our Swiss Italian students who has been studying with us at Lexis Byron since September.
Chiara always has a positive vibe and a huge smile on her face so I thought I would ask her a few questions about her adventure so far studying English in Byron Bay……….
So Chiara, why did you choose Byron Bay ?
I chose Byron Bay because I don’t really like to spend a long time in a city. I feel that the ocean and the easy going life style are two of the most important things in life.
Byron Bay is so relaxed, chilled out and full of beautiful beaches and nature! I know a few students who have studied in Byron Bay and they were all very happy with their experience at Lexis English.
What were your weakness in English before you moved to Australia ?
Before I came to Lexis I could speak English with people but not really explain myself well. I missed a lot of words and always felt a little shy. Since I’ve been at Lexis I have become a lot more confident and love to chat in English with my friends whenever I can.
Tell me about your teachers and your classes.
I love my classmates they have become my close friends! We are always laughing and having a great time. When I leave Lexis I’ll for sure stay in contact with them!
Adrienne, my teacher is amazing, funny and very helpful.
Whats your favorite activity ?
I enjoy all the activities at school and try to go to all of them. I do prefer the activities outside the school. My favorite was body boarding at the beach. It was really fun and the waves were amazing! We even saw dolphins!
Tell me about your accommodation.
My accommodation is amazing! I am living in a homestay with Elly and Toby. They are really kind and they cook delicious food everyday. They will do anything to help me out and I really feel welcome and part of their family.
What are your favorite things to do in Byron ?
I love going to the beach when I’m not at school. I live just a short bike ride away from the Tallows beach. I love to go there and walk without my shoes on!
Whats is your most magical moment in Bryon ?
I think that everyday gives me something magical. Everyday is different compared to Switzerland. Just to see the sunrise and sunset is very special to me.
What is your advice for people who are thinking about enrolling at Lexis Byron Bay?
Lexis is a very nice school, all the teachers and employees are very friendly and helpful. Everyone is very happy here, its easy to make new friends and have fun together !
