Clemente is from Chile. He comes from an amazing family and has an awesome relationship with his six brothers. He is currently studying business at the University of Chile. Since he was a small chile he has been practicing soccer and also loves to skate and surf. He wants to study English in Australia so he can improve his grammar and when he returns to Chile he will hopefully find a job where he can apply his English.
Ines is from Spain. Before coming to Australia she worked as a pre-school teacher as well as going to university. She will return to university next year to study psychology. Ines has always wanted to visit Australia as it was her dream destination and she thought it would be the best place to learn English. Her hobbies include going to the gym and meeting her friends.
Patrick is from Switzerland. He likes to run, surf, and snowboard. Back home he meets with friends every two weeks and they play different sports like workout circuits, athletics, and running. He studied to be an electrician for 3 years and now he works for a security firm where they make fire, video, and security systems. He programs and installs the systems for clients. He is in Australia to study English especially his vocabulary.
Paula is from Spain. She loves her family and has a special bond with her mother. The family loves to spend time together and make amazing food. She also loves to do sports especially tennis which she will play while here in Australia. Paula studied to be a sports teacher and has been working for a year in a school but realised that she wanted to travel. She is in Australia to study English but is also very excited about seeing this beautiful country.
Florence is from Switzerland. She’s had lots of experience in the travel and tourism industry. She was always fascinated about getting to know other cultures and dreamt of foreign places. She then fell in love with surfing and the game changed. Florence spent the next 6 months in Portugal and enjoyed spending most days at the beach. She’s also a big fan of swimming, a passion she shares with her sister.

Marco is from Switzerland. He grew up in a small village close to the Matterhorn and he enjoys playing floorball (a type of hockey) and driving a snowmobile. He works driving and repairing big trucks. English is important to Marco and he hopes to improve his level of speaking and writing while in Byron Bay. He would like to learn surfing and will travel to see the wonderful landscapes and many beaches in Australia.
Laura is from Spain. She was born on Gran Canaria but has spent the last 13 years in Fuerteventura, the wildest of the seven islands of the Canaries. She moved to Spain to study Tourism and management degree at university. Australia has been on her top 5 places to visit since she starting surfing a long time ago. Her family has moved back to Australia and she excited about the opportunities she will have here!
Raiana is from Brazil. She is in Australia to study English but is also here because she loves the beach, surfing, and nature. She has a business label in Brazil designing and selling her own clothes. Raiana is in Byron with her two-year-old son and partner.
Emiko is from Japan. She is in Byron Bay to better her English skills. She loves the beach and the ocean. She lives with her mother, sister and brother.
Zoe is from Belgium. She loves to draw and going to the gym. She also likes to travel and see other cultures because she thinks that travelling opens the minds of young people like herself. After her one year in Australia she would like to go to study advertising at university which is the reason she wants to improve her English.
Manu is from Spain. His favourite hobbies are travel and sport which is why he founded a sports event agency near Barcelona. He has come to study in Byron Bay to disconnect from his job. While here He wants to meet people, see many places, and practice his English.

Thamires is from Brazil. She was born in Rio De Janeiro but now lives with her brother in Sao Paulo. She studies economics and works in a bank. In her spare time, she likes to read, play soccer, and run! Thamires would like to improve her English as her job works with clients from around the world. She came to Australia to study English because it’s a beautiful place, has nice beaches and the people are cool!
Maria is from Switzerland. She studied commerce and worked in a bank for two years but would now like to study naturopathy. She loves cooking and baking and both of her parents are Italian. She came to Australia for the good weather, the biodiversity, and also to learn English. She would love to stay in Australia for as long as possible, working, and studying something she’s interested in.
Marina is from Russia. She lives with her husband and daughter in Switzerland. She has come to Australia to study English which will enable her to have better communication skills which she needs for her job and travel.
Young is from Korea. He likes to listen to music and play sports and lives with his parents, two sisters and younger brother. He majored in material engineering at Dong-A University and would like to speak English fluently which is why he has come to Byron Bay to study English.

Celine is from Switzerland. When at home horse riding and playing the harp are her passions but she is very excited about taking surf lessons while here in Byron. She has come to Australia to better her English, meet new people, and also experience the culture! Celine has been working in a restaurant at home to earn money to pay for university which starts next year but is unsure whether she will study psychology or economics.
Martina is from Italy. She comes from a small village in the north of Italy called Bellagio which is near Lake Como. She lives with her mum and her cat but travels a lot for work. Martina studied to become a pastry chef. Her work is hard but she loves to make dessert and see the end result! When she’s not working she loves to travel, going for walks, and taking photos. She has come here to travel and improve her English. She is hoping to return in the future and work.
Christian is from Switzerland. When he finished high school he did a 2-year apprenticeship as a car mechanic but had to quit as he was required to join the Swiss army. He loves to play football and plays with his village club twice a week. He also loves hanging out with his friends. Christian has family in Australia and wanted to meet them and see how they live. He would like to travel around Australia and New Zealand after he finishes at Lexis Byron Bay and when he returns home he will study to become a teacher!
Lars is also from Switzerland. He has come to Lexis Byron Bay to further his English skills and hopefully travel around Australia after his studies. In the future would like to travel to Nepal and China. His love is football and he is a supporter of FC Zurich where he has a season pass.

Dario is from Switzerland. He has come to Lexis Byron Bay because he feels it’s the best way to learn about Australian culture and people while learning English. He served in the military before coming here and is hoping to learn about himself and decide what he would like to do for work when he returns to Switzerland. Dario will backpack around Australia for 2 months when he finishes his studies!
Eglantine is from Belgium. She loves to play the guitar and scouting. She started scouting when she was 7 years old and it’s still her favourite activity. Before coming to Lexis Byron Bay she was at another school in Melbourne, where she met a lot of amazing people. She is hoping the travel and English studies will better herself for the future.
Alba is from Spain. She lives with her parents and two siblings. Her interests are sports and travel but she also loves to cook new recipes that she finds on the internet. Alba needed a break in her life and decided Australia was the perfect place. English is a very important language that she wants to improve so she can grow and open her mind.
Yuya is from Japan. He studies tourism at university so he can be a tour guide. He wants to improve his English skills so he can communicate with tourists. He is hoping to work abroad and will continue to learn English until then. Yuya has two reasons for studying English in Australia; he wants to be able to speak to everyone and he loves nature! He also would like to learn to surf.
Youngmin is from Korea. He lives with his parents in Daegu while his sister lives in Seoul. He was studying at university but got called in to do military service where he served for 20 months. He finished 2 weeks before coming to Australia. He plans to study at Lexis for 2 -3 months then go back to Korea to finish his studies at university.
Marco is from Italy. His hobbies are surfing, snowboarding, and skating. He studied English in Italy but wanted to continue his studies in Australia. He works as chef in Palermo fro 3 years. He would like to open a traditional Italian restaurant in the future.
Martin is from Spain. He wants to study English in Australia and experience the culture and travel around. He likes how Australian people speak! In Spain, he works in a bar as a waiter and his hobbies include trekking and paddleboarding.
Daniel is from Brazil. He lives with his sisters in Rio De Janeiro. His dad is an amazing guy and taught him everything he knows. Surfing is his passion and he sells photos and videos of the surf that he produces himself. He hopes to work making films and documentaries about surfing in the future. His dream was to come to Australia.
Bernat is from Spain. His interests are motorbikes, cycling, and surfing. He works as a cleaner, gardener, cook, and in construction. He plans to study and work for 7 months and hopefully, during that time he will travel and be able to surf every day.
Nanae is from Japan. She is crazy about natural and organic everything! When in a new town or city, the first thing she does is find the organic stores. She previously worked in an organic, herb, and aroma shop. She worked there for a year and loved it! Nanae came to Byron Bay to learn yoga because Byron Bay is famous for yoga, being organic, and free mindedness.
Maria is from Spain. She grew up in a small village called Olivare with her parents, her older brother, and her younger sister. She has been playing volleyball since she was 15 but had to quit last year because she moved to Barcelona where she works as cabin crew. She studied audiovisual communication and also worked as a sports photographer. She is here to improve her English so she can get a good job when she returns to Spain.
Yumana is from Switzerland. She lives with her father who is Swiss and her mother who is Japanese. She loves singing and music and also likes to spend time with her friends and swim at the beach. She decided to take a gap year from university where she studies social science. Yumana wanted to come to Australia because many people had told her that the atmosphere is good and that the people are very nice. She will spend 3 months in Australia then go to Senegal for work.
Eva is from Spain. She works at a restaurant in a hotel on the island of Ibiza where she is a waitress, bartender, and barista. It is better for her job that she speaks English as most people that visit the hotel are international tourists. Eva will spend the next 12 weeks studying English at Lexis Byron Bay.
Fabian is from Switzerland. He lives with his parents in Zurich which is the German part of Switzerland. He likes to do a lot of sport and in winter he goes skiing and snowboarding. The rest of the year he does athletics and volleyball. He also likes reading about history. He studied electrical engineering and works as an electrician. After his studies in Australia, he is hoping to find a job as an electrical engineer and needs English as most companies are international.
Lena is from Germany. She lives on her own in her grandparent’s house but spends a lot of time with her family. Her mother is a yoga teacher and goes to her classes every week. She has built an occupational health and safety company with her father. They check workspaces for companies to see if they are safe work environments. She wanted to study English in Australia because she wanted to see a beautiful country and meet lots of locals but also because of the weather and beaches.

This week we welcome 10 new students to our campus at Lexis English Byron Bay!
Maria Teresa (Teia) is from Spain. In Barcelona, she studied social education, therapy dogs, and neurolinguistic programming. Her family lives in the mountains which is one hour from her flat where she lives with her dog. She came to Australia to learn English and also to live and work. Next year she plans to travel around Europe with her dog.
Franco is from Italy. His family owns a restaurant in Formentera, Spain but his birth country is Argentina. He has lived in Spain for 22 years. Franco came to Australia with his friends to learn English.
Irene is from Spain. Her hobbies include yoga, drawing, and cross country running. She studied to become a yoga teacher and works teaching yoga during the week. On the weekends she works in a bar. Irene dreams to speak better English which is why she came to Australia but is also here for the lifestyle.
Stefanie is from Brazil. She lives with her 10-year-old sister, mother, and lots of plants in Curitiba which is a beautiful and ecological city in the south of Brazil. She loves nature, ecology, and sustainable living. She has been working as a yoga teacher which is her other passion. She came to Australia because of the lifestyle, sun, beach, and Australian culture.
Bruna is from Brazil. She just completed her masters in natural sciences and is hoping to find work during her stay here in Australia. She loves to run, go to the beach and her daily practice of yoga. Australia was an easy choice for Bruna to study English because she grew up near the beach.
Ana is from Spain. She came to Byron Bay to learn English with her friend. She is a pilates instructor and is hoping to find a job here. She would like to speak better English so that she can communicate with everyone especially when teaching pilates.
Ivan is from Spain. He lives in Formentera which is a small island in the Mediterranean. He lives with his younger brother and mother and father. He studied mathematics, finance, and accounting. Ivan has been working for a rental car company since 2010. He is here to study English and is hoping to find work while he is here.
Alvaro is from Spain. He wanted to study in Australia because of the climate and to have an adventure. Once he has finished his studies at Lexis Byron Bay he wants to return to Formentera, where he will work and live with his family.

Her hobbies are singing and playing the alp horn which is a typical Swiss instrument. This summer, Maya finished her apprenticeship as a medical assistant and has been working in a surgery with 5 doctors. She needs English for her job and is hoping that she will achieve a better level of English after her trip to Australia.
Joëlle is from Switzerland. She finished an apprenticeship in retail sales where her main role was to serve customers. She has a younger brother and a step sister who are both 17. In her free time she likes to practice aerobics and in winter go skiing with her family. Joëlle is in Australia to better her English and will hopefully travel once she has finished at Lexis Byron Bay.
Valeria is from Spain. She has 3 older brothers and her father is from Argentina. Her family own a hotel in Spain where she works. Valeria chose to study English in Australia and believes it’s the most amazing county. Her passion is surfing but is also here because of the culture, animals, beaches, and people. She wants to improve her English and enjoy the experience while here.
Nadin is from Switzerland. She lives in a small town called Graubunden which, is famous for being the highest town in Europe. She lives in an apartment with her sister and loves to mountain bike and go hiking on the weekends. After school she worked as a painter for 3 years but in winter she worked in a restaurant on top of a mountain. Nadin is here to learn English and after 6 weeks at Lexis Byron Bay she will move to Sydney.
Xenia is from Spain. She will be studying English at Lexis Byron Bay for the next 8 months. She also loves to spend time with her friends, photography, travel, and reading! Xenia studied early childhood and worked in a kindergarten for the last two years. While in Australia she will hopefully work out her next venture in life.
Mutsumi is from Japan. She is interested in the Byron lifestyle and environment which is why she chose to study English at Lexis Byron Bay . She will be here for 24 weeks and is hoping to improve her English so she can go back to Japan and find a good job. Mutsumi loves to go to the beach and listening to music but also likes jogging, cycling, nature and travelling.
Marta is from Spain. She lives with her Parents and sister in Valencia. She studied nutrition at University and later worked as a nutritional specialist in a health centre. Her favourite sport is cross fit because it’s such a hard sport! She wants to improve her English so she can travel the world without so many problems and is hoping to find a job once she’s graduated from Lexis Byron Bay.

Arianna is from Italy. She came to Australia 18 months ago to fulfill a career in environmentalism and during that time she has studied sustainable operations. Arianna works in Byron as a professional cleaner, pet sitter, and gardener. She will hope to study conservation and land management. She is studying English to improve her self confidence.
Catarina is from Brazil. She has transferred from the Lexis Noosa campus and will spend the next 4 weeks with us in Byron.
Rony is from Switzerland. He loves mountain biking, driving, and took up surfing earlier this year with the hope to better his skills while in Australia. Rony works as an engineer in Switzerland and will possibly study electrical engineering when he returns home. He is here to improve his English so he can communicate fluently. He will travel through Australia and New Zealand after studying in Byron.
Titouan is from France but he lives in Geneva in Switzerland where he enjoys the mountains, forests, and lakes. He also spends his spare time with friends and listening to music. Over the summer he worked in a hospital so he could save to come to Australia where, he would like to better his English skills.
Celine is from Switzerland. She loves art, painting, and yoga. when she is on holiday she really enjoys surfing. Celine plans to study next September for 3 years so she can become a primary school teacher. She is in Australia to learn English and also to travel. She wants to meet lots of people and see as much as she can.
Danny is from Switzerland. His hobbies include paragliding, skiing, running, and surfing! He works as a nutritional chef back in Switzerland and would love to work in Australia doing the same. He has come to Australia to study English and because he also loves sun and the beach.

At home she works as a curtain maker, which she loves! Daniela will spend 2 months in Byron Bay and then she will travel with her friends to Melbourne and Brisbane.
Patrick is from Switzerland. When he finished high school he became a cook and more recently worked in technical merchandising. Travelling is something Patrick loves and that’s why he decided to come to Australia to better his English. He is hoping to be able to talk with everyone from around the world once he has finished studying at Lexis.
Mathieu is from Switzerland. He took a a break from school a few months ago to work for a security company. When he returns to Switzerland he will study to become a teacher. It is very important for Mathieu to be able to speak several languages so he connect with people from all over the world. When he finishes at Lexis he will spend time travelling around Australia and New Zealand.
Manuela is from Switzerland. She decided to come to Australia because of the weather and to see the country. After her studies at Lexis, she will travel up to Cairns. Back home she works in an office doing administration. Manuela has one brother and one sister and her family own a farm. Her hobbies are horse riding, going to the gym, and hanging with her friends.
Dorian is from Switzerland. His family live in a small city called Reconvilier where they have a big house with two cats and one dog. His interests include; ice hockey, mountain climbing, and architecture. He also loves to ski! Dorian would like to speak 3 languages, French, German, and English as it’s important for his work. He is in Australia to learn English and to also understand another culture.
Michele is from Switzerland. On her days off she likes to hike in the Swiss Alps. She is in Byron Bay for 4 weeks to study English at Lexis and when she’s finished her plan is to will rent a car and drive south to Melbourne. Michele wanted to come to Australia to see the amazing landscapes and to meet lots of friendly people.
Melissa is from Switzerland. Back home she works as a secretary but doesn’t love it, so when she returns home she is thinking about studying psychology. Melissa is in Byron for 3 months to learn English and will hopefully travel around Australia once she is finished. Her hobbies include; running, walking, and photography!
Isabel is from Spain. She lives with her family in Mallorca and loves to spend time with her friends, going to the cinema, shopping, and spending time at the beach. She studied computer science in Mallorca and worked for an IT company but needed a break which is why she decided to come to Australia.
Amin is from Switzerland.He worked as a software engineer at a Swiss television station for 6 years and graduated computer science in 2018. He decided to take a break from his job and will spend the next 4 months in Australia where he is hoping to better his English skills. He enjoys playing drums in a band, going out, hiking in the mountains, and programming.
Lya is from Switzerland. She comes from a small city called Dudingen where she lives with her parents. In her free time she likes to play a lot of sports but mostly going to the gym, swimming, or running. This July she finished her commercial apprenticeship where she worked for a company called Comet. Comet is an international industrial company. After studying for the next 6 weeks at Lexis in Byron Bay she will move up to Brisbane where she will volunteer at a Koala Sanctuary.

Laura is from Spain. She is a cook and lives with her family in Seville. Her hobbies include music and sport. She is hoping to open her own restaurant in the future. Laura came to study in Byron Bay because it has a similar climate to Spain.
Sina is from Switzerland. She loves her job as a carpenter because she can see results at the end of the day. She also likes most sports and playing the saxophone. Sina is keen to learn English in Australia because there are lots of beaches and animals here and would also like to meet lots of people.
Imma is from Spain. Soccer is favourite sport but she also loves volleyball and surfing. She has a degree in audiovisual production and is about to finish a degree in audiovisual media. Imma wants to learn English because it’s very important for her job and decided to study in Australia because of the summer.
Max is from Germany. In his free time he enjoys hanging out with his friends and playing football. He lives in Bremen and works as an event manager. He has come to Australia to have fun and learn English.
Lucia P is from Spain. She lives with her family in a small village close to Salamanca. Her father and uncle have a sheep farm and her sister is a nurse. Lucia loves to read when it rains and walk her dogs to the lake. She is studying biology at the University of Salamanca. She would like to study English in Australia because it’s a beautiful country.
Amelie is from France. She was born in Jonzac where her father is a farmer and her mother is a secretary in a school. She is interested in art and loves to paint and draw. Photography is also a passion. Amelie has studied graphic design and was working for a wallpaper agency before she came to Australia. After studying in Byron Bay she will head to Sydney to meet her friends and travel.
Eunate is from Spain. She has studied to be a nurse and physiotherapy and worked for a public hospital before coming to Australia. She has been in Australia for 8 months already. Eunate really wants to improve her English and loves travelling. She wants to be able to communicate with everyone and plans to experience living in both New Zealand and Australia.
Lucia A is from Spain. She lives with her family on a very beautiful island called Mallorca. The most important person to Lucia is here brother. Her hobbies include going to the beach and reading. In Mallorca she studied and worked in a centre for children. She would like to learn English so she can go back and study more at University.
Joel is from Switzerland. He has worked as a landscape gardener since 2010 and is the boss to 5 people. He loves his job but wants a new adventure and is hoping to get a job as border control officer. After learning English in Byron Bay he will travel to Cairns, Alice Springs, and Perth.
Tanit is from Spain. She loves to swim, make jewellery, and listening to music. She has studied hair dressing but sells her jewellery at markets. She would like to learn English so she can travel the world selling her jewellery. She chose Australia because it has a nice climate and is beautiful.
Tania is from Spain. Her sister lives in Bristol and her mother and father live in Spain. She loves surfing and poetry. Tania has a degree in journalism but doesn’t want to work i that industry. At the moment she works in a hotel reception in France. She would love to study English in Australia because she loves the lifestyle and the surf.
Rosa Maria is from Spain. She lives in Mallorca with her family. She works as a manager is a shop since 2011 but would like to learn English to change her life. She studied as a teacher while she was working. She will learn English in Byron and then go back to Spain where she will work as a teacher.

Shohei is from Japan. His hobbies are sports, arts, movies, and food. Shohei has been wanting to come to Australia since he was 15 to learn English. He works with a lot of customers from overseas and would love to be able to communicate better with them. He has a mother, sister and two brothers.
Claudia is from Spain. She lives in a small town called Los Bamos with her family and two dogs. She finished high school in England as she wanted to improve her English and experience another culture. Claudia believes Australia is the best place to learn English. She loves to paddle boarding and taking photos of the sunset.
Irene is from Spain. Her whole family live in Zaragoza but for the last two years she has been working in Barcelona. She studied an engineering degree in product development and design and finished her masters degree in Barcelona. The company she worked for designs and makes new products out of old plastic. It is important in her job to be able to speak English and chose to study in Byron bay because it has a lot to offer once she has finished at Lexis.
Ikuyo is from Japan. She worked for a menswear clothing company for 13 years but decided to quit. She would love to be a yoga instructor and has been learning yoga for 1 year. She heard that Byron Bay is famous for yoga and surfing. Her goal is to study English and yoga for a year and then set up a yoga studio in Byron Bay.
Veronica is from Italy. She loves nature, the ocean and would also love to have a new work experience, which is why she has come to Byron Bay. Her family live in a small city called Iglesias and she has one sister, Melissa, who is 21.
Martin is from Spain. His favourite hobbies are football and golf but he loves to spend time with his friends. He has studied Engineering and has lived and worked in Bournemouth in England. Martin has come to Australia to improve his English and likes that the weather is good here. He has a friend that lives here and has always heard about the fun experiences to be had in Australia.
AlbaR is from Barcelona, Spain. She has very supportive parents and a younger sister. Alba has already lived and worked in China, United Kingdom, and France. She can speak several languages including, French, German, Spanish, and Catalan. She knows a bit of Chinese but just the basics. She has come to Australia with two friends and wants to experience the most she can while improving her English at Lexis.
Jonatas is from Brazil. He comes from a traditional catholic family who live in the south. He has come to Byron to not only learn English but also surf and meet many people. Jonatas has worked as a computer systems programmer and analyst for 10 years. Before he studied at university he completed a course in technology. His dream is to live near the beach and study English.
Alba L is from Spain. She comes from Zaragoza, a small city between Madrid and Barcelona. She has 3 passions, basketball, photography, and travelling. When she was 21 she moved to Barcelona to study photography. It was a difficult but worthwhile decision. Alba loves Barcelona as it has opened her mind to many new things and she also met so many different people. She has a very big family which includes 21 cousins.
Kazuya is from Japan. He has an older brother and a mother and father. He loves to work out and he sees going to the gym as a type of therapy and stress release. Kazuya used to study law at university but has decided to come to Australia and have a new experience. He would also like to be a personal trainer.
Cristobal is from Spain. His favourite hobbies include surfing and cycling. Australia is the best place for Cristobal because he can surf every day as well as meet a lot of people. His plan is to learn English here so he can go home to Spain and be better in his job.
Nanamai is from Japan. She has a father, mother and older brother. She loves the beach, shopping and cosmetics. She has studied at college in Japan but is happy to be studying English in Australia. She is also hoping to learn how to surf while here.

This week we welcome 19 new students who are joining us at Lexis Byron Bay.
Daichi is from Tokyo, Japan. He lives with his mother, father, and younger sister. He works as a Hairdresser in Tokyo and if he moves back to Japan he will open his own salon. Daichi’s hobbies include skateboarding, tennis, and road tripping. He also likes nature and wildlife and is happy to be in Australia where there is lots of wildlife.
Michela is from Germany. Her Mother is a doctor and her Father is an engineer. She also has an older sister. She works as a nurse in a hospital and has just finished her bachelors degree in health sciences. She loves to spend her time with friends and doing sports like zumba or yoga. Michela decided to study English in Australia because she wanted to combine travelling to New Zealand and Australia while improving her English skills.
Dominik is from Switzerland. His uncle lives in Astonville which is about 20 minutes away from Byron Bay. Dominik will stay in Byron for the next 4 weeks and while he is here he hopes to learn how to surf and to better his English. He has one brother and one sister and works as a tax consultant. In his spare time he enjoys playing soccer and in winter he likes to ski in the Alps.
Katherina is from Germany. Her hobbies include running, handball, and spending time with her friends. She also has one sister called Jessica. She is in Byron Bay for two weeks to study English and after her course she will travel around Australia and New Zealand. She has been working in a bank and when she returns to Germany she is hoping to find a similar job.
Daria is from Switzerland. She lives with her family and her 3 cats. Her favourite hobby is caring for her cats and meeting with friends. She works in a Hospital as a nurse but would love to work as a doctors assistant in a practice as it has better work hours. She likes the idea of learning English because she will be able to speak to many people from around the world.
Salvador is from Spain. He loves to travel and his hobbies include playing the ukulele and working with wood. He is very keen to learn English in Australia as it is a beautiful country and he is hoping to be able to understand and talk to everyone. He is looking forward to summer in Byron and having a good time.
Melina is from Laax, Switzerland. She usually works for the council office in Laax. Her hobbies include climbing, catching up with friends and listening to music. Melina looks forward to studying English in Australia as it will give her a skill for future use.
Lena is from Switzerland. She lives in a house with her mother and her boyfriend. She loves to play volleyball and is hoping to be able to play while in Byron. Lena works as a medical assistant and just finished her apprenticeship. She loves to travel and after studying in Byron she will travel up the east coast to Cairns.
Celia is from Belgium. She lives with her mother and two younger sisters. She recently finished her studies in social media and when she returns from Australia she will work in this field. Celia is hoping to travel Australia after her course in Byron so she can meet people and progress in her English.
Lisa is from Reunion. Reunion is a small island in the Indian Ocean where she lives with her parents. She has a sister that lives in France and a brother that lives in Quebec, Canada. She loves to travel and wildlife which is what brought her to Australia. Her hobbies are running and surfing. Lisa is here to study English but will also study Biology or Nutrition.
Elvira is from Switzerland. She is a return student to Lexis English. She studied on our English + Surfers programme for four weeks last summer. Now she is back and is hoping to leave with a Advanced level of English after 6 months of study here.
Patrik is from Czech Republic. His hobbies include sport, music, and literature. Patrik and his brother work on project together called ‘The Famous Literary Group’ where they are trying to bring back modern poetry and prose. He likes how relaxed Australia is which is why he chose to study English here.
Magdalena is from Czech Republic. When she was in her country she studied music. Her main subject was singing. She loves Australian music and feels that music helps connect people and words. This is the reason she choose to come to Australia and study English. Her dream is to be creative in English and be fluent enough to write her own lyrics.
Ludovico is from Italy. He is passionate about surfing and nature. He was studying Economics at university but decided to leave and do a bar tending course instead. He choose to come to Australia because of the great surf and amazing beaches. He doesn’t have any plans for the future, but is excited to see where life takes him.
Nolwen is from Reunion Island. Her parents really like to travel, so since she was little, her and her brother have been to many different countries. Her family lived in Australia in 2009 and they have visited every 2 years since. She loves this country and thinks the people are the nicest people she has ever met. She is passionate about music, surfing and the ocean. In the future she would like to study the history of cinema as she loves making film, learning about the process of sound and making stories.

She is an environmental engineer, she typically works with degraded areas and wind farms. She is here in Australia to improve her English so she can confidently work on international projects in the future.
Laura is from Spain. She loves sports, especially trail running and jiu jitsu (martial arts). She studied civil engineering, but currently is not working in this field. In the future she hopes to build a hostel in Spain and attract customers from all over the world, this is why she needs to improve her English.
Miriam is from Spain. Ever since she was a child, she has always loved nature. Her hobbies include trekking in nature and water activities. She also loves to read and listen to music. She has been working as a nurse since 2014 and loves her job. She wants to improve her English so she can become a better nurse and communicate with patients from all over the world.

Guilherme is from Brazil. His hobbies include riding dirt bikes and motor cycles. Last year he finished his studies as a mechanic and is now working with his Step Father to build houses. He would like to improve his English so in the future he can run his own airbnb and be able to communicate with people from all over the world.
Juan is from Spain. He loves to travel and meet new people. His hobbies include surfing and exploring new places. He would like to study tourism when he returns to his country and in the future he hopes to be the owner of a hotel. He is very excited to be studying English in Australia as he has dreamed of visiting here since he was a child.
Anna is from Germany. In her free time she loves to act in the theater, spend time with friends and play the accordion. She is lucky enough to have family friends here in Byron Bay so is staying with them while she is here. After studying English she hopes to travel around the country and visit New Zealand.
Tamara is from Spain. She loves music, nature, going out with friends and drinking 😉 During her time in Australia she hopes to surf and practice yoga. In her country she works as a pediatric nurse, she loves working with children. She believes it is important for her to improve her English as she has a lot of patients who speak English, and it is important to be able to communicate with them.
Gabriel is from Brazil. He is very passionate about music. He plays the guitar and drums. He thinks Australia is a beautiful country and everyone should visit at least once in their life time. He is unsure what his future will hold, but for now he is very happy to be studying English here in Byron Bay.
Claudia is from Spain. She has always loved animals and at home she has a dog called Leah. <3 In the future she hopes to work as a Vet with wild animals, like whales and sharks. She believes learning English will help her reach her goals and provide more opportunity.
Sascha is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. He enjoys competing in biathlon. This sport includes cross country skiing and shooting. In Winter he is also a cross country skiing teacher in his village. He has just finished his apprenticeship as a mechanic. In the future he hopes to travel all over the world.
Robert is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. In his free time he likes to participate in active sports like boxing, hitting the gym and running. He has been told many great things about Byron Bay and all it’s magic and now he is very happy to be here studying for 6 weeks.
Enrico is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. He enjoys biking, running and playing tennis. He also likes to read a book and spend quality time with his friends and family. He is working as a project manager and has a lot of contacts with international people. He hopes to improve his English for future employment and so he can meet interesting people when he travels.
Javiera is from Chile. She loves to dance! She likes Australia for the beaches, beautiful weather and the people. She was working in a restaurant in her country and when she returns to Chile, she hopes to study.
Regina is from Chile. She loves to read, paint, draw and do yoga. She is here to experience the beautiful beaches and relaxed way of life. She is also hoping to learn to surf while she is in Australia. Regina is not sure what she will do in the future, but for now she is very happy taking life step by step and continuing to grow.
Ana is from Spain. Her hobbies include windsurfing, surfing, reading books and watching movies. She has always lived by the sea and is very passionate about water sports. She was not sure what she wanted to study after finishing high school but was motivated to come to Australia by her teacher at school. She believes English is very important for her future and is very excited to have the opportunity to be studying here in Byron Bay.
Ariadna is from Spain. She is here in Byron Bay with her sister. Her hobbies include cooking and travelling. She decided to come and study in Australia to improve her English as it is very important in her career. She is an industrial design engineer, but also a chef. While she is here she hopes to make many friends. 🙂
Yuske is from Japan. He loves to travel, and so far he has been to 12 countries. He is currently studying commerce. He hopes to be able to speak fluent English so he can travel to many countries and connect with people from all over the world.

Martin is from Madrid, Spain. He lives near the center of the city in a loft style apartment. His passion is boxing. He is lucky where he lives, as it is close to his boxing gym. Martin has been studying electronic engineering and business management for the last six and a half years and has recently finished. He is here in Australia to improve his English and to have a good time 🙂
Alice is from the Italian speaking part of Switzerland. She enjoys playing sports. When she was young she practiced gymnastics, but as she got older, she needed something more dynamic. This lead her to become a triathlete. She hopes to continue to train whilst here in Australia. In the future, Alice, thinks that she may like to study hotel management or study at a school of sports. She has not made up her mind yet, so for now she just wants to enjoy her time in Australia.
Jules is from France. He loves swimming and since he has arrived in Australia he has been swimming every morning in the sea. He has recently finished his masters degree in law and now he is here to improve his English for his future career. He choose to come to Australia for the beautiful weather and beaches.
Marc is from Spain. His hobbies include, climbing mountains, football, horse riding and surfing. In Spain he works as a computer scientist. He has been working hard ever since graduating and is now looking forward to traveling and gaining personal experiences.
Marine is from Belgium. She likes to travel and discover the world. Lukas is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. His hobbies include surfing, going to the gym and jogging. He loves the sun, beach and ocean 🙂 and this is why he decided to come to Australia to study. He hopes to surf everyday and improve his English by the time he returns home.
Nicola is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. He plays football and inside hockey. In his free time he enjoys catching up with friends, going to concerts and skating. When Nicola has finished his studies he is going to travel for 5 months through Australia and Thailand. He hopes to improve his English for his future career and also future travels.
Carmen is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. She comes from Brunnen, a beautiful city next to a lake and mountains. She likes to practice pole fit, catch up with friends and travel. Next year she plans to study business. She hopes to refresh her English while she is here at Lexis. After her studies is looking forward to travelling through Australia.
Leonie is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. She enjoys playing sports and being outdoors with friends. It is a dream for her to study in Australia because she loves the beach and the life style here. After her time at Lexis, she will return to Switzerland to continue studying to become a nurse, she then hopes to be able to travel and see more of the world.
Camila is from Chile. Her hobbies include walking, dance and travel. She has come to Byron Bay with her husband. She has had many friends come here to study and they have all highly recommended Byron Bay as a great place to live! In the future Camila hopes to improves her English and travel to many different countries with her husband.
Camille is from France. She enjoys travelling, sports and has a passion for all things associated with spirituality, massage and alternative medicine. She decided to study in Australia as there are many open minded people here, and she loves the sun, beach and ocean! Her goal while she is here is to improve her English in order to find a good job when she returns to France.
Asuka is from Japan. She loves dogs very much, she has 5 at home. While she is here in Australia she hopes to learn to surf. She enjoys organic food and loves the ocean. During her time at Lexis Byron Bay she hopes to improve her English skills and meet many new friends.
Marta is from Spain. She has studied fine arts at university and is now working to become a tattoo artist. She has come to Australia to improve her English for her career and future travel plans. She believes improving her English will open her up to many more opportunities. In her free time she likes to surf, run, ride horses and play sports.

Friday afternoon’s activity was the art of Sushi Making.
There was some discussion in the beginning about the best method to cook the rice. We decided to use the rice cookers and hope for the best. They have proven to be unreliable in the past, but lucky for us, this time, they worked perfectly!! After the sushi rice was cooked, we added rice vinegar, caster sugar and salt to make the perfect sticky consistency for sushi rolls.
While the rice was cooking, we prepared the vegetables, salmon and tuna. We sliced carrots, capsicum, cucumber and avocado into long strips. We also added mayonnaise to the tuna for flavour.
Then it was time to roll..
We used cling film on our bamboo mats to prevent the yaki nori (seaweed) from sticking.
We placed some rice on the bottom 1/4 of the yaki nori and then added our choice of fillings on top. We then simply rolled the mats to create our masterpieces!
We had pickled ginger, soy sauce, wasabi and mayonnaise to compliment our sushi.
Everyone enjoyed their fresh sushi. Easy to make + delicious! Whats not to love? <3

Anaelle, is from France. She enjoys surfing and skiing. In France, she works as a hostess for a lot of events, including charity fashion shows. Anaelle would like to improve her English because she believes it is very helpful for her future career. It has always been her dream to come to Australia and while she is here she hopes to find a job, surf a lot and have fun!
Elodie, is from France. Her hobbies include drawing mandalas, reading books and spending time with her adorable niece. <3 In France, she studied as an educator for kindergarten children. She is passionate about young children and their development, and is curious to learn about the differences in learning techniques here in Australia. Elodie would like to study English here in Byron, so she can go to University in Australia and continue her studies to achieve a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
Malu, is from Brazil. In her free time she likes to do yoga, dance, take photos and go out with friends. In Brazil she studied business and now hopes to improve her English for her future career. She has chosen to come to Australia for its beautiful weather and relaxed way life 🙂
Nicolas, is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. He is very interested in sports, including football and American football. He has been working at an insurance company but now hopes to try something new and study film and photography. Nicolas hopes to improve his English so he can get more confident speaking and understanding the English language.
Loris, is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. His plan to study in Australia was very spontaneous. He originally planned to visit New Zealand, but then decided to combine it with a stay in Byron Bay to improve his English and learn to surf. When he returns to Switzerland, he plans to study social work.
Biel, is from Spain. His interests include scuba diving, surfing and playing football. He came to Australia because it is a very different country and the people are very friendly. His plan for the future is to work for a scuba diving company.
Carlos, is from Spain. His hobbies include surfing, playing basketball, listening to music and meeting friends. He thought Australia was the perfect place for him because he can surf, make new friends and learn a lot about another culture. While he is here he hopes to travel to other cities like Melbourne and Gold Coast.
Lena, is from the French speaking part of Switzerland. She has just finished her bachelor in architecture and is taking a break with her studies. She will go on to do her masters in February. She came to Australia to improve her English, and have an adventure travelling around a new country.

Kento is from Japan. His hobbies are surfing, traveling and hip hop music. In Japan, he lived in Kyoto and worked as a designer and illustrator. His favourite place to visit is Aoshima Beach Park. The designer of the park, Hideo Miyahara, was inspired by Byron Bay beach culture and that is why Kento wanted to come to Byron Bay to study and work.
Ayumi is from Japan. She enjoys drinking beer and socialising with her friends. In Japan she worked very hard at an internet cafe. She was told by her agent that Australia is the best country for her to study in because the weather is good, the people and kind and it has beautiful beaches to enjoy. After studying at Lexis, Ayumi hopes to find work here in Australia.
Davide is from Italy. He has many interests including playing football and reading. He loves to travel and that is the reason he has come to Australia. He isn’t sure what he wants to do in the future but he thinks he will return to Italy and back to his old job working in insurance.
Zenon is from Spain. His hobbies include surfing and playing beach volleyball. He also likes to watch TV series and play video games. He is keen to study English because he thinks it is an important language to communicate with other people when travelling. He also loves the surf and nature here in Australia.
Lara is from Brazil. She has been studying animal science at University. She loves working on farms, especially with live stock and nature. She believes English is important for her professional life and also her travels. She is so happy to be in Australia, especially in Byron bay as she loves the beach and the good vibes 🙂
Ai is from Japan. She hopes to improve her English so she is able to have great conversations and make friendships with people from all over the world. While she is in Byron Bay she wants to learn to surf and really enjoy the relaxed way of life here.
Camille is from Belgium. She likes many sports, especially boxing and fitness. She also plays tennis with her brother. Her other interest include going out with her friends and eating pizza and pasta 🙂 She has come to Australia to improve her English as she believes it is important for travelling and meeting people. After Camille has finished studying in Australia, she plans on going to The USA and Canada to do community work before returning to Belgium.
Chihiro is from Japan. She likes to listen to music and watch movies. Chihiro believes watching movies is good English practice for her as she watches them in English with Japanese subtitles. She hopes in the future to find work supporting people who want to study or work abroad, this is why it is important for her to improve her English.
Filipa is from Portugal. She loves to go out with her friends and go to night clubs and drink. She also likes to swim and dance. She worked in a post office for 3 years whilst also studying. She thinks Australia is an amazing country and she would like to discover all it has to offer while she is here.
Leslie is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. She is interested in photography and in her free time does gymnastics. She has always wanted to study in Australia as she has watched many TV shows that are set in Australia. After her time in Byron bay she will travel to Manly to continue to study and then when she returns to Switzerland she will do an apprenticeship at a radio station.
Samuel is from France. He is passionate about sport, especially football. He was studying at a sports university but had to stop as he injured his ACL. He then decided to come to Australia as he has never been here before. He believes English is an important language to learn for his future goals.
Michel is from the French speaking part of Switzerland. He enjoys outdoor activities like skiing, mountain running, cross fit and downhill mountain biking. He also likes to cook and hopes to travel the world. He is excited to be in Australia and will begin looking for work here in the Summer.

She studied classical and contemporary dance, but unfortunately had to stop due to an injury. She also studied tourism and hopes in the future to work as an air hostess.
Gabriela is from Brazil. She enjoys going to the gym, doing jujitsu and dancing with her friends. She finished her masters degree in Public Administration and worked in this field for 6 years. Gabriela hopes to improve her English to continue her studies when she returns to Brazil.
Romina is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. In her free time she enjoys skiing and while she is in Byron hopes to learn to surf. She has worked as a medical assistant in a surgery with 6 doctors. Romina’s job was to take blood and analyse it, also take x-rays and make vaccinations. She hopes to improve her English so she can travel alone around Australia and New Zealand.
Masaki is from Japan. He has played baseball from ten years and hopes to learn to surf while he is in Byron Bay. He has chosen to study in Australia because the people are kind, the scenery is beautiful and the weather is lovely. In the future he wants to be an English Teacher in a Japanese Junior High.
Rodrigo is from Brazil. He has transferred schools from Perth. He has a long enrollment with us and we look forward to getting to know him. He is very friendly and we hope he enjoys the Byron Bay way of life.

Maho is from Japan. Her hobbies include yoga, playing the piano, cycling, walking and calligraphy. She is currently following her fathers footsteps and studying dentistry. She is interested in social humanity and is part of a club at her school.
Lina is from Korea. She is very excited to be in Australia as she loves the nature and beautiful scenery. Her sister is a doctor and she hopes to improve her English for her future studies.
Vanessa is from Spain. She has worked as a high school teacher for 8 years. She teaches chemistry, math and information technology. She loves her job because she enjoys the challenge of working with teenagers and also the holidays 🙂 She is very excited to be in Australia and is looking forward to exploring the country.
Giacomo (Jack) is from Switzerland. He is very excited to be in Australia and would like to spend a lot of time surfing. In Switzerland he was studying at a sport’s school. He did a lot of sports including biking, skiing and climbing. After his time in Byron Bay Jack will go to Germany to study the language before returning to Switzerland.
Nicolas is from Chile. He has recently finished university and is in Australia to improve his English. His hobbies include sports and travelling.
Emil is from Germany. He loves to play soccer and ping pong with his family. He is excited to be in Australia to learn to surf and improve his English skills. He is also excited to see some native animals. In the future he will work with his father producing regional food.

Maria is from Spain. She works as an architect. Her passion is yoga and Pilates. She is a teacher of both and she practices every day. She also loves to walk and swim and enjoy the wild life and nature. She hopes to improve her English to help her communicate with different people and to help her when she travels.
Miho is from Japan. Her hobbies include playing tennis and computer games. In the future she wants to go to university to become a doctor so English is important to be able to speak with foreign patients. She would also like to travel to English speaking countries like America and UK.
Daijiro is from Japan. His hobbies include playing soccer, but he has had an injury and can no longer play. He still enjoys watching games. In the future he would like to be a chef. He loves eating and cooking and hopes to one day own a traditional Japanese restaurant.
Kota is from Japan. His hobbies include listening to One Direction. His favourite subject is P.E. because he really likes sports. In the future he hopes to be a farmer, for now he is studying about rice to be successful.
Mai is from Japan. Her hobbies include art, especially drawing and she loves animals. She also likes comics including Dragonball Z and Onepiece. She has always wanted to come to Australia as she has been told by her teachers and friends that it is a great place.
Schuichi is from Japan. He enjoys books and he likes sushi. He has a lot of energy and likes to make people laugh!
Kosuke is from Japan. His favourite sport is baseball. He enjoys playing it as well as watching. He also enjoys comic books. His favourite is ‘My Hero Academy’. He is excited to be in Australia to learn about the culture and nature. He always wants to learn native English. In the future he hopes to work in foreign countries.
Kokoro is from Japan. She has a twin brother. She enjoys playing table tennis, she has played for 6 years! She wants to learn English so she can communicate with people from all over the world and tell them about Japanese culture.
Akane is from Japan. She has 2 beautiful pet birds named Moca and Toto. She enjoys taking pictures of them. She believes English is a very important language and hopes in the future to study animals.
Yu is from Onomichi City in Hiroshima, Japan. There are many temples and the sea is beautiful. He enjoys baseball and supports the Carp team. He would like to learn more about the culture of Australia and in the future hopes to have perfect English.
Sawa is from Japan. Her hobbies include listening to music. Her favourite group is ‘TWICE’. She hopes to one day be a junior high school teacher because she likes English and has had very nice teachers in the past.
Moeka is from Japan. Her hobbies include drawing pictures and oil painting. She is looking forward to seeing the nature in Australia and hopes to draw many pictures of it. She hopes in her future to become an artist. She would like to talk to many people from all over the world.
Himari is from Ehime, Japan. She now lives in Hiroshima. Her hobbies include playing violin. She is very happy to be in Australia and hopes to improve her English.
Suzuka is from Japan. Her hobbies include playing violin. She also enjoys making sweets and watching baseball. She is interested in Australian culture, history and nature. She hopes to improve her English so in the future she can live in interesting countries.

Raul is from Spain and he is here with his girlfriend Noemi. He works for a company who fabricate different seeds including; corn seeds, tomatoes, cucumber and melons. His hobbies include playing soccer, running and going to the cinema. It has always been a dream of his dreams to come to Australia because he feels it is an amazing country! In the future Raul hopes to come back and visit other city’s.
Noemi is Raul’s girlfriend and is also from Spain! She currently works as a kindergarten and primary school teacher. In her spare time she loves going out with friends and family and enjoys travelling and learning about new cultures. She is so excited to be in Australia to improve her English and experience the Byron Bay lifestyle.
Juliette is from France. Her favourite things to do are travel, hang out with friends and eat chocolate chip cookies! 😀 She also plays rugby and enjoys taking care of animals. Juliette hopes to improve her English so in the future when she travels she finds it easier to communicate.

Marisa is from a small village in Germany. She is currently studying at Police Academy in Lower Saxony. In her spare time Marisa likes to play soccer and other sports. She also likes to read, especially Harry Potter books 🙂 She has always wanted to come to Australia to discover the Australian was of living. Improving her English will help her in the future when she becomes a police officer.
Patricia is from Germany. One of her hobbies is horse riding and she is very interested in travelling. She hopes to visit as many countries around the world as possible. She has always dreamed of coming to Australia and to learn to surf. After her 2 weeks in Byron Bay, Patricia plans to travel around Australia for another three weeks and then spend one month in Bali.
Andre is from Brazil. His hobbies include mountain biking, skate boarding and photography. This year Andre plans on going back to University to study physiology. He decided to study in Byron Bay because he likes the lifestyle here and he hopes to improve his surfing.

Violaine is also from Paris. She is currently in her first year at high school. When Violaine is older she hopes to become an architect. She is happy to be in Australia to learn English and learn to surf.
Casandra is from Spain. She has always wanted to live in Byron Bay because her sister lives here to. In her spare time she likes to listen to music, theater and also she is interested in history. She hopes to be able to stay in Australia long term in the future.
Benedetta is from Italy . Everyone calls her Benny. Coming to Australia has always been a dream of hers. She enjoys studying science and hopes to become a doctor in the future.
Igor is from Brazil. He has lived in Australia since 2017. When he first lived here he was staying on the Gold Coast. He is much happier here in Byron Bay. He is very passionate about electronic music and has spent some time studying it. In the future he plans to move to Melbourne.
Kana is from Japan. Her hobbies include yoga and volley ball. She hopes to study hard to improve her English so she can teach yoga to people from all over the world.
Mai is also from Japan. she enjoys snowboarding, watching movies, traveling and watching concerts. While she is Byron Bay she wants to try surfing and hopes to make friends from all over the world.
Gina is from Spain. Her favourite thing in the whole world is to listen and play music. She plays the piano and drums. Back in Barcelona in her every day life Gina is studying a degree in journalism and politics. Antoine is from France. In his spare time he enjoys playing sports, especially basketball. He also likes video games. His favourite subjects at school are math and sport, but he is also good at science and English. Antoine hopes in the future to become an architect, an engineer, a scientist and a professional basketball player. To be successful, Antoine believes it is important to have a good understanding of the English language.
Fabiana is from Milan, Italy. In her free time Fabiana likes to go out with friends and enjoys going for runs in the parks in her city. She decided to come to Australia to improve her English because she likes the language and because it gives more opportunity to find a job. Fabiana plans on staying in Australia until December and in this time she hopes to learn a lot.
Jihyun is from Korea. In her free time she enjoys listening to music to help her relax. She has always wanted to become a teacher since she was young. Jihyun had a friend who studied in Australia for 1 year who recommended her to do the same. She hopes to have improved her English by the time she returns to Korea so in the future she can teach English to children.

Lucas is from Brazil. He currently works as a pilot. He fly’s a ‘Grand Caravan’, an aircraft that he says is easy to maneuver. He hopes in the future to get a good result in the Aviation Test and take-off his career. He is also a keen surfer and hopes to have the opportunity to surf in countries all over the world.
Amaury is from Paris. He really enjoys playing sports and hopes to improve his surf skills while he is in Australia. He has previously been to Melbourne and really loved the city. While he is here this time, he wants to immerse himself within the Australian culture and experience the Australian way of living.
Dave is from Switzerland. He enjoys playing soccer, tennis and basketball. He works as a garden landscaper. He visited Australia in 2017 and loved it and that is the reason he chose to come back to study English here. He hopes to get work here in Australia in the future.
Louise is from Belgium. She loves animals and has always had a passion for horse riding. She was studying communications at University, but felt as if it is was not right for her. Instead she decided to travel abroad, first to Portugal and now Australia, to see if a career involving horses was more suited to her. She is still searching for her right career choice after growing tired of working on farms and for now plans to just focus on her English.

Julia is from Brazil. She believes Australia has a similar lifestyle and weather than what she is used to so that is why she decided to study here. She currently studies law in Brazil and has some great skills in Portuguese grammar. She hopes to one day be as skilled in English.

Aiko is also from Japan. She is an aunt to three young boys. In Japan she works in real estate. Her hobbies include baking, she finds kneading dough makes her relaxed and she loves the taste of fresh bread. She hopes to improve her English so she can speak directly with her English speaking clients in the future.
Fernanda is from Chile. She loves to spend time with her friends and family and also her beloved dog, Bako. She has been working as a pastry chef in her country. She has also studied English in London. She decided to come to Australia because she has had a lot of people tell her it is a great country. After studying at Lexis she will study environmental science.
Roslane is from Brazil. She works for Nestle as food engineer, working with chocolate products. She previously worked with ice cream. She loves her job!!! In her free time Roslane likes to go to the beach with her friends, family and boyfriend. She has always thought Australia is a beautiful country and she is excited to have one month here to enjoy.
Titus is from Switzerland. In his free time he likes to play tennis, go for a run, make music and meet friends and family. When he was young he started diving and since then he likes to travel with his father and dive at beautiful places around the world. While in Byron, Titus hopes to improve his surfing skills as well as his English. After studying at Lexis, he plans to travel to Cairns, Sydney and Alice Springs.
Tommaso is from Italy. He is very interested in nature and he loves to surf. He has just finished studying at high school and has worked for the last year as a waiter, saving money for his travels. He believes it is important to study English so he can communicate with people and for future employment.

Joining the activities is a great way to make new friends, practice your English in a social environment , and of course have fun!!
Throughout the month we always have a variety of different activities, with a mix of sports, cooking and craft, so there’s something for everyone!
We have free Yoga with Jimmy every Monday at 2pm– in Room 8.
We continue our Coffee Club on Tuesday’s at 2pm; join me for coffee, Tim Tams, games and conversations!
GIL (Guided Individual Learning) runs every day 2-3pm in Room 8. Come along to get help with anything from homework to vocabulary to writing your resume.
Teacher Kristy runs a free Guided Meditation on Wednesdaymorning between 8-8:30am in room 8. (Except for Wednesday 12th, as the class room will be occupied)
We continue our friendly Soccer Match with Byron Bay English Language School (BBELS) every second Wednesday at 3:30pm. Meet in front of the school around 3pm and we can all walk down to the soccer field together. Help us claim back the trophy!
We have a couple craft-ernoon activities for you to make something special for a loved one or something you can keep to remember your time here at Lexis. Jewellery Making on Thursday June 6th and Hand Made Gift Cards on Friday 21st June. Everything will be supplied but you are welcome to bring along your own materials to use if you wish.
On Wednesday 12th June Join Yuka for a very special one off High Intensity Interval Training Pilates Class in room 8. One hour that is sure to get the blood flowing and get you warmed up on a chilly winters afternoon.
On Thursday 13th June come along and try a variety of Aussie food – from lamingtons to vegemite sandwiches. You might just surprise yourself by what you enjoy.
Thursday 14th May we have another Table Tennis Tournament with fantastic prizes for the winner of course!
I am really looking forward to Baking Koala Cupcakes on Thursday 20thand then Making Pizzas the following Thursday 27th. YUMMMMM!
We also have our 1 Hour Surf Lesson for $25 on Wednesday 26th and on the last Friday of the month we will have a hit of backyard cricket and some fun playing Garden Games.

Julia is from Switzerland. Last year she graduated from high school and in September this year she will begin University. She is in Australia to improve her English but also to explore and see how different life can be. Her hobbies include kickboxing, dancing and swimming.
Camila is from Brazil. She loves to dance, travel and spend time at the beach and gym. She chose to study in Australia because she likes the warm weather, the beautiful beaches and the way of life here. She is interested in experiencing the Australian culture and hoping her time here will help her see the world through different eyes.
Josefina is from Chile. For the past 2.5 years she has worked as a nurse in Chile in a pediatric emergency department. She came to Australia back in 2017 where she spent 7 months of her time in Byron Bay. She has decided to come back to Byron and study at Lexis to improve her command on the English Language, before beginning a 3 year course on sustainability in environmental technology. Improving her English is important to Josefina for her future studies and also for travelling the world.

Simon is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. In his free time he enjoys playing Floorball. This is a game you play in a sports hall, with a small white ball and a plastic stick. Simon is an apprentice house drawer and he will continue to study architecture when he returns home. He has chosen to study in Byron Bay as he likes the relaxed nature of the small town. After studying at Lexis, Simon, is going to travel the East Coast and continue to explore Australia.
Tommaso is from Italy. He has played guitar since he was young and started to play piano last year. Music plays a fundamental role in Tommaso’s life. In his spare time he also likes boxing, hiking and surfing. He finished high school last year and is now studying at University. He is in Australia to improve his English because he will need it for future employment.
Jvana is from a small town in the mountains of Switzerland. In her spare time Jvana likes to play football and all types of sports. In winter she enjoys, skiing, ice skating and boarding. She is excited to be in Australia to explore the country and improve her English.
Sagiri is from Japan. She has played the piano since she was three years old. She loves listening to music and going to live music concerts. Sagiri is very happy to be in Byron Bay, as she loves the sea and she thinks the town is very beautiful. While she is in Australia she wants to go to Uluru and also hug a koala.
Masato is from Japan. His hobbies include growing vegetables, making sweets, doing ‘Aikido’ and yoga. He is interested in agriculture. He would like to become a farmer in the future, he currently works as an insurance broker. He hopes to make a lot of friends from all over the world.
Nino is from Brazil. In his spare time he enjoys gaming and comics. He worked in civil construction for the past 20 years, so he has not been in a class room for a long time! He decided to study in Australia because of the beautiful landscape and the opportunity to work. Tidjani is from New-Caledonia. He studied in Toulouse and completed his master degree in management and tourism. In his spare time he likes windsurfing, skating, surfing, hunting and fishing. Alberto is from Chile. He enjoys snowboarding in the Winter and relaxing at the beach in the Summer. He studied finance at university and has spent the last 2 months doing an internship at Vector Capital, which he enjoyed very much. His main reason for coming to Australia is to improve his English so he can get a good job when he gets back to Chile. After studying at Lexis, Alberto, will go to the Gold Coast with friends and then continue travelling through South East Asia.
Camilo is from Colombia. He is a musician, with a degree in music education. He has worked as a teacher in public high schools in Colombia. He is also a professional keyboard player in popular music, mainly salsa and afro-urban music. Camilo hopes to improve his English to grow in his personal career and gain the ability to be able to work all over the world.
Hinata is from Japan. Her hobbies are watching movies, painting pictures and listening to music. She graduated from high school 2 weeks ago. She decided to come to Australia because of its beautiful scenery. Hinata wants to be a picture book writer. It is important for her to travel and see a lot of nice places and meet new people from all over the world.
Mariana is from Portugal. Her hobbies include swimming, running and reading. She completed a degree in branding and fashion design in 2015, and has also gained her lifeguard certificate. She came to Australia to challenge herself in a new environment. She is currently seeking a job in Byron to complete her adventure.
Hinako is from Japan. She is a university student majoring in English literature and linguistics. Her hobbies are drawing, dancing, skiing and body boarding. She is hoping to learn to surf while she is in Byron Bay. After studying at Lexis, Hinako, wants to get a job here and continue to improve her skills in English. Akane is from Japan. Her interest are music and travel. She has 2 sisters back in Japan. She is only here for 1 week, but thinks that is a long enough for her. She loves the sea and is excited to be in Byron Bay.

Ai is from Japan. She has been living and studying in Tokyo for the last 7 years. She works as a kindergarten teacher with children aged between 3-6. Her classroom would have about 35 students so she was very busy. Ai hopes to improve her English so she can communicate with people all over the world. She is very happy to be in Byron Bay because she loves to surf!
Asuka is from Japan. She enjoys running, walking and shopping. She wants to improve her English so she can get a good job when she goes back to Japan. She chose to study in Australia because she thinks this country is beautiful.
Juliane is from Germany. In her free time she likes to play soccer, read or meet with friends. She would like to study Biology when she gets back to Germany. She has wanted to visit Australia for a long time and is excited to learn to surf while she is here.
Aurea, is from Reinosa, a small town in the north of Spain. She moved to Australia to improve her English. Her hobbies are surfing, snowboarding an dancing. Music is very important in her life. She finished studying last year to become a nurse and hopes to work in all different places around the world.
Sara, is from Spain. Her hobbies are playing volleyball and scuba diving. She loves animals very much, even sharks. While she is here she hopes to scuba dive at Julian Rocks and is planning on volunteering at Currumbin Park after studying at Lexis. In Spain she studied to be a veterinarian, and will continue her studies when she gets home.

Gabriela, is from Brazil. She loves to travel and is so happy to be in Australia! She enjoys spending time at the beach and exploring new places. She is hoping to improve her English for her job when she returns back to Brazil.
Nanaka, is a university student from Japan. She loves watching old movies, Westerns are her favorites. It is her first time studying abroad and living alone, so she is a little bit nervous, but also very excited for a new life! She is hoping to find work in a cafe, and start practicing yoga. She chose to study in Australia because she loves the hot weather, nice people, and beautiful beaches.
Cyntia, is from Chile. She enjoys listening to music, watching movies and speaking with her friends. Saho loves playing the piano. Her favourite subjects in school are Maths and English. She finds the English language very interesting and also studied it in Canada last Summer! She would like to improve her English speaking so she can work in other countries in the future.
Hisatoshi comes from a family of five. His hobbies include listening to music and watching music videos on YouTube. He would like to be a doctor! He has studied English for fourteen years but really wants to improve his speaking skills for the future.
Taisei loves listening to music, reading, eating and is a keen tennis player. He is part of a tennis club in his High School back home. He would like to study English here in Australia so he can speak with many new people and feels that this experience will really improve his level of speaking. He would like to work all over the world in the future, so learning English is very important for him.
Momoka is 18 and has one sister who is a dance instructor. She loves watching videos on YouTube, finding it both fun and relaxing. She loves exercise, especially soccer and basketball and plays on a team for both sports back home.
Eriko (or ‘Eri’ as everyone calls her!) comes from a family of four. Her main hobby is dancing and she particularly loves dancing to Japanese and Korean Idol groups. She goes to an all-girls school and really enjoys her school life in Japan. She does six English classes a week at school and is looking forward to improving her language skills here at Lexis Byron Bay.
Misuho is part of a brass band club in her school and plays the trombone! Her hobbies are reading and playing games. She has a great love for plants. She really wants to improve her English so she can be friends with people from all over the world.
Taiki is a 17 year old High School student. He loves drawing – particularly cartoon characters such as Disney and Pokemon. He really wants to learn more English to make many friends here. He is trying to make a big effort with his listening, writing and speaking in order to do so.
Kanon comes from a family of four – and a cat! She loves playing tennis, piano and collecting precious stones. She is in the tennis club at her school and usually plays after classes. He works as a flight attendant for one of the biggest travel company’s in the world, Travel Union International. He want to refresh his English and is looking forward to travelling around Australia after studying at Lexis.
Ayumi is from Japan. She enjoys playing tennis, watching soccer games and movies. She loves Australia for the weather and the beaches. She hopes to get to see many Australian animals while she is here. She would like to be a flight attendant when she finishes school because in her experience travelling, they have always been very kind to her.

Hikaru is from Osaka, Japan. His hobbies are watching and playing sports. She finished school last July and has since completed two internships to gain work experience, and will start university in September to study Public Health of International Affairs. Claudia is from Girona, Spain. Her hobbies are photography and going to the cinema. She also loves to travel and be by the ocean. Whilst in Byron she is hoping to add surfing to her list of hobbies! Last year she finished her degree in Advertising and Public Relations. It has always been her dream to come to Australia so she decided to combine this with learning English for her professional future!
Li Yu is from Taiwan and goes by her nickname Lily! She joins Serena’s Elementary class and will study with us for 8 weeks. She loves Australia so is very happy and excited to be here in Byron for the next couple of months!
Hanan is from Bern, the capital of Switzerland. She likes to read books, swim and be outside in nature. She also likes to party and meet new people. She has been working for the past 4 years in event management but wanted a little break; which is what brings her to Byron! She wants to improve her English so she can find a new job in a bigger company!
Gaetan was born in France but grew up in the Canary islands. He is a sea lover and spends much of his time surfing, snorkeling and swimming. He studied Economy -Philosophy but now wants to improve his English so he can complete a Marketing course. He is looking forward to returning home with a new point of view, language and knowledge of another culture!
Joan is from Spain. His interests are history, football and going to the beach with his friends and family. During the summer he works in a hotel and in the winter he studies history. In the future he would like to travel to many countries and have a good job in hotel; English will help him with both these dreams!
Emanuel is from Italy. His hobbies are fishing and cooking. He is a professional chef and has worked for many restaurants and important hotels in Italy. He is looking forward to improving his English here in Australia!
Andrea is from Italy. He has many hobbies, including listening to music, playing basketball, going to the gym, reading and watching TV series. The thing he loves doing the most though is going out with friends! He studied to become an architect but decided it wasn’t the right career path for him and instead became a pizza maker! He went to England last year to learn English but now wants a refresher and to travel around Australia!
Cristina is from Basque country in the North of Spain. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and friends; going for a coffee or to the cinema and beach. She works in Human Resources and her work have told her it is important for her profession that she improves her English, which is what brings her here to Lexis!
Hong Ki is from Korea. He is studying at University and doing an internship with LG Inotek, but wanted to take a break to improve his English. He is looking forward to this new experience, studying English and achieving his goals!
Ivan is from Fuerteventura, Canary Island. He loves surfing and animals; these are two of the main things that brought him to Australia. The other reason he chose Australia for his studies is because of the marine life and forests. He needs to improve his English so he is able to study in other cities when he returns to Europe!
Haruka is from Japan. She enjoys doing yoga and art. She is here to improve her English to find a good job. She will study with us for 10 weeks before returning to Japan to find work with her new language!
Selena, Selly for short, is from Italy and the Republic of San Marino. She enjoys going out with friends, surfing and practicing yoga; all of which she’ll be able to do plenty of here in Byron! She also chose Byron for her studies as she has visited Australia 3 times before and is already so in love with this beautiful laid back town! She has worked as an accountant for a Business Financial company for 15 years but quit to come to this amazing country for a new exciting adventure!
Rumi is from Japan. Her biggest passion is dancing. She works at Costco and they often have customers from different countries, so she wants to improve her English so she is able to help them with their questions. She came to Byron 1 year ago and was so impressed with the nature, beaches, cafes and food that she knew this was the place she wanted to study!

Sandro is from the German speaking part of Switzerland. He loves going hiking and biking in the summer. In the winter he enjoys going skiing and going on ski tours. He studied car diagnostics for 2 years and now works as a car mechanic. He wants to improve his English so he can speak to people from all different countries!
Makiko is from Japan. She likes going to the beach, gardening and yoga. She works as a massage therapist and is very interested in learning about health and natural medicine. She would like to improve her English so she can learn many healing skills from all over the world.

She completed an apprenticeship as an early childhood teacher and loved her job working with children. Thomas lives in the Swiss mountains, in a town called Frutiga. His hobbies are soccer, skiing, motorcycling and going out with friends. He has just completed his apprenticeship as a Poly Technician. He needs to improve his English as he will travel to Russia in August for a competition relating to his profession and will need to speak in English. He chose Byron for his studies because it is a beautiful and relaxed town and he would love to learn to surf!

She has been working as an accountant for the last 5 years and this has allowed her to travel for work, including 15 months in New Zealand, as well as Asia and Australia. Alba is from Barcelona, Spain. She enjoys doing sports, such as swimming, running, Zumba and training at the gym. Her other hobbies include yoga and cooking for her family and friends. Last year she completed her Degree in Teaching, specialising in Physical Education. She works as a swim instructor for children. She completed a three year apprenticeship in retail and now works in an office. She wants to study English in Australia because it is now winter in Switzerland, so she is here for the sun and beaches!

He has worked in the camera crew for different film companies over the past 9 years. He decided to come to Australia as he wants to learn English in a magical environment.
