For weekend activities they have put together a variety of free and discounted activities/trips for you; including gigs, snorkeling with turtles, kayaking with dolphins, skydiving and more!!

Joining the activities is a great way to make new friends, practice your English in a social environment , and of course have fun!!
Throughout the month we always have a variety of different activities, with a mix of sports, cooking and craft, so there’s something for everyone!
We have free Yoga with the wonderful Jimmy every Monday at 2pm– in Room 8.
We continue our Coffee Club on Tuesday’s at 2pm; join me for coffee, Tim Tams, games and conversations!
GIL (Guided Individual Learning) runs every day 2-3pm in Room 8 (except Monday’s are in Room 2). Come along to get help with anything from homework to vocabulary to writing your resume.
Teacher Kristy runs a free Guided Meditation on Wednesdaymorning between 8-8:30am in room 8. (Except for Wednesday 10th as she is on Holiday)
We continue our friendly Soccer Match with Byron Bay English Language School (BBELS) every second Wednesday at 2:30pm. Meet in front of the school around 2pm and we can all walk down to the soccer field together! This month we have a special woman’s match on the 17th for all the girls who want to play! Make sure you sign up at reception!
On Thursday 4th we will be making brigadeiros in the student kitchen, with the help of some of our wonderful Brazilian students. On Thursday 25th we will have another of my favourite Crepe Competition’s.. I cant wait to be the judge again 🙂
On Friday 5th July join Yuka for her last High Intensity Interval Training Pilates Class in room 8. One hour that is sure to get the blood flowing and get you warmed up on a chilly winters afternoon.
On Wednesday 10th July we have the incredibly talented Mina Sangsari coming in to take a Hip Hop lesson! Come along and get down for an hour of fun!
Come to Room 8 on Friday 12th for a fun filled Pizza and Games afternoon.
We also have a some crafty activities for you to make something special for a loved one or something you can keep to remember your time here at Lexis… On Thursday 11th July we are making Hand Made Gift Cards and on Wednesday 24th July we are making Dream Catcher’s!Everything will be supplied but you are welcome to bring along your own extra materials if you wish.
Thursday 18th July we have another Table Tennis Tournament with fantastic prizes for the winner!
Friday 19th we have a classy afternoon of Wine and Cheese Tasting.

1. WHERE DID YOU GROW UP?
Half an hour north of Birmingham in the middle of the UK. A small town called Stone.
2. WHICH LANGUAGES CAN YOU SPEAK?
English and a bit of French and an even smaller bit of German and Italian.
3. WHICH COUNTRIES HAVE YOU VISITED?
France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Australia
4. WHICH COUNTRIES HAVE YOU LIVED IN?
The UK and Australia
5. WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE IN THE WORLD?
The coast of Bamburgh in the North east of the UK – its rugged, desolate, and has great pubs.
7. TELL US 5 THINGS WE SHOULDN’T MISS OUT ON WHILE IN AUSTRALIA
– Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon Tower – cheaper than a climb, much more fun!
– Port Macquarie Koala Hospital – the only hospital for Koalas that is run completely by volunteers
– Fraser Island – 90-mile beach in particular
– Airlie Beach – go for a tour of the Whitsundays, it is stunning
– Cronuts – a kind of weird blend of doughnuts and croissants
8. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING TO DO IN BYRON?
The weekend markets and street food – it’s crazy how good the selection and quality is. Also a pint at the Rails.
9. WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU AT 11PM ON A SATURDAY?
At a house party, probably in the kitchen with a bottle of rum, talking to strangers about how terrible Brexit is.
10. AND 8AM ON A SUNDAY?
Either hanging horribly from the night before, or trying to cook up some pancakes and eggs!

Finish my PhD and quit academia, work for a charity, and then move to Oz!

Book early – its mad how quickly things get booked on the east coast – I’ve had my fair share of last minute scrabbling!

On Wednesday the awesome team at Happy Travels treated our students to a Happy Hour, which included free pizza, punch and prizes!
International DJ Mr Ha.Yes provided the music while the students enjoyed their free lunch and tropical punch.
Lexis’ Happy Travels specialist Sarah (who you can find in the student lounge on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays between 12pm and 3pm) collected everyone’s names to enter them into a draw for a Great Barrier Reef Trip!!
Well done to Camila Romero Gonzalez for winning this amazing prize!!
There were more winners from the goon pong, with two of our students winning a kayaking with dolphins and Nimbin day trip!
