Afternoon Tie Dying Pt1! November 27th

Yesterday’s afternoon activity was Tie-dying!

We worked on the picnic tables outside the student lounge and made sure it was covered with a plastic sheet… less mess!

First, everyone used rubber bands or wool to tie, bunch, and knot their t-shirts. A few people used socks and bags.

Next, we mixed the colours. Instead of using fabric dyes we used food colouring. This works just as well and is also a cheaper option!
Just add the dye to a squeezy bottle and fill with water.

The process is very messy but totally enjoyable!

Getting those colours right!

Once the dying was over everyone wrapped their t-shirts in cling wrap. This allows the dye to set but you need to wait a day before you can wash it!

Can’t wait to see the end results… Tune in next week to see how they turned out!
