Christmas Cooking! (morning) 20 December

This morning, we had great fun for our Christmas Cooking activity – making snowman skewers! We had Christmas music playing to get everyone into the Christmas spirit πŸ˜€

The idea was to combine all of our ingredients to then place on a skewer and decorate to look like snowmen… and whatever other ideas we could come up with!

All ready to go! More students joined in later too πŸ™‚

The first thing we did was make our chocolate bliss balls so that we could place them in the fridge to set. They were a combination of dates, almond meal, walnuts, honey and cocoa with a pinch of salt and some vanilla essence. (It is a naturally gluten-free recipe so it suited our GF students too πŸ™‚ )

The ingredients for our Christmas treats

These were all blitzed in the food processor and then hand-shaped by everyone. They were then finished by rolling them in desiccated coconut – the ‘snow’! πŸ™‚

Once these were set, everyone began making their snow people – we even had an octopus! They used marshmallows, M&Ms, chocolate chips and jellies to mimic buttons, eyes, hats, scarves and anything else they could think of. It was a very fun activity, enjoyed by all and the best part – they were delicious!

Check out the final results! πŸ˜€
