Body boarding! 29 November

Today’s activity was body boarding and what an amazing day we had for it! Everyone was so eager to get started that they were all ready and waiting at reception before 11am! We had a great turn out, over twenty students in total 🙂

All but two of the group braved the water, which happened to be full of seaweed today!

The water was the perfect temperature, especially with the heat of the morning sun 🙂

Here are some shots of them in action in the water…

Joining the activities is a great way to make new friends, practice your English in a social environment , and of course have fun!!

All activities are free except for surfing ($25 for the monthly 1 hour special or $55 any day for the 2 hour lesson)!

Activities

Yoga will continue to be every Monday in Room 8 at 7.45am – 8.45am. This allows everyone to be able to go together and start their mornings with some stretching and relaxation!

We’ll also continue to have the popular Coffee Club every Tuesday. Join Orla at 11.30am or me at 2pm in the garden or student lounge for coffee, Tim Tams, games and conversation!

We’ll be making the most of the beautiful weather, and Byron’s beautiful beaches, with a couple of beach activities! First we have Beach Games on the 7th, then Volleyball the following week on the 14th. For our afternoon students these activities will be at 11am instead of 11.30am to allow enough time to get to the beach and back before class. Morning students will remain at 2pm. Meet in reception first 🙂

Our Monthly Table Tennis Tournament returns on the 5th! Get practicing as there is a six pack of beer to be won 🙂

Thursday the 6th we will be making Sushi in the kitchen.

Get creative with Dream Catcher Making on the 12th. A great souvenir to take home or give as a gift!

Our 1 hour Surf Special for $25 is on the 13th. This is a great option to give surfing a try and see if you’d like to book on to one of the 2 hour lessons for $55! Pick ups from school will be at 10am and 3pm. Sign up and pay in reception. Limited spots available so be quick!

From the 18th we will be having a Christmas themed week, starting with Christmas Coffee Club, then Christmas Decoration Making on the 19th and Christmas Cooking on the 20th!

On the last day of school before the Christmas break, Friday the 21st, we have a special Christmas Salsa Party! All classes will be in the morning for this day and the party will start at 1pm. Nibbles and drinks will be provided, followed by a hour of Salsa Dancing! (see how much fun we had at our last salsa class: https://lexisbyronbay.com/2018/11/23/salsa-sangria-16-november/) !!

The school is then closed for Christmas, but we are then all back again on Monday the 31st of December!  We welcome our new Cambridge students this day so will be having a Cambridge Welcome Sausage Sizzle! 12.15pm in front of school – for everyone!
