Morning Crepe Competition – 4 October

Thursday morning was spent in the kitchen where we perfected the very fine art of crepe making! Everyone was very keen to make the best ones, especially as there was a prize for the most beautifully presented one – a free surf lesson! šŸ™‚

We all read through the ingredients list and cooking method together. Some of the students had made them before so it was great to have some expert help! It’s important to have a very smooth batter so we all passed it around to take turns mixing as it was such hard work!

Once the batter was made, we left it to chill in the fridge for a while. During this time, everyone thought about how they wanted to present their crepes and got busy chopping and prepping for their masterpieces! We had a selection of seasonal fruits, mixed nuts, chocolate, Nutella, honey, cream…

Some people got really creative with their crepes – I particularly loved this heart shaped one!

Everyone had so much fun and we had a lot of people coming in to the kitchen with offers to help them eat, not that we needed any help with that! šŸ™‚

The competition was tough!

In the end though, we could only have one winner and that went to….Nina! It was a tough decision but I really liked how she presented hers and the black plate really made it stand out among the rest. She was super happy to win the surf lesson. Congrats Nina! šŸ™‚
