Meet the Staff – This week Intermediate teacher, Mel

Mel has been at Lexis since 2011 and in that time taught most classes and levels. You can currently find her as half the dream Intermediate team (the other half being Julia who teaches on Thursdays and Fridays). Mel’s classes are always very interactive with lots of games and discussions designed to make students practise the target language as much as possible. Mel speaks fluent Spanish and has lived in Spain, Peru and Colombia so she knows what it’s like to live, learn and make mistakes in a second language.

HOW MANY LANGUAGES DO YOU SPEAK?

Two. English and Spanish.

WHEN YOU ARE IN BYRON BAY, DON’T MISS OUT….

…on going to The Farm. You can have breakfast or lunch at the amazing restaurant or bakery, or, if you don’t want to spend much money, take your own picnic and enjoy the sunshine. It’s free to walk around and look at the animals. There’s even a macadamia orchard where you can crack and eat your own macadamia nuts!

ON THE WEEKEND…..

…visit one of the markets in or around Byron Bay. There is one on each weekend where you can buy things like clothes, handicrafts and food. It gives you a chance to get out of Byron Bay and see other little towns in the area.
