Welcome to our six new students and two returning students joining us today at Lexis Byron Bay!
Theophile is from Belgium. His hobbies include travelling, off-roading in his 4×4 and going to party with friends. He has completed studies in Horticulture and now works in a mechanical garage for landscaping and forestry materials. He wants to improve his English for travelling and meeting new people. To come to Australia has always been a dream of his as (in his opinion, and ours!) it is the most beautiful country in the world!
Bartosz is from Poland. He loves nature and being in the mountains. He also really enjoys reading and listening to music. His biggest passion is traveling, which he has done a lot of; mostly hitch hiking around Europe! He has a Masters Degree in Finance and Accounting. He chose to study in Australia because of the beautiful weather and also because there are not so many Polish people here, so he’s able to practice speaking English more!
Yagoba is from the Basque Country, in the North of Spain. He has been surfing since he was 7 years old and has worked in a surf school, so is hoping to do some surf instructor training whilst here in Byron. He also enjoys tennis, climbing and horse riding. He studied in a French school and speaks Spanish, French and Basque fluently. After his 4 weeks of study at Lexis he will go to University in Switzerland to study Hospitality and Management, which will be taught in English.
Aza is from Spain. Her hobbies include surfing, yoga, dancing flamenco, bush walking and reading. She also loves cooking, aromatherapy, design, art and eating! She is currently working as a cleaner in a hotel and private house here in Byron Bay and after her studies with us she will start a yoga course at the Byron Yoga Centre. She chose Australia for her studies because of the warm weather, nature and good surf!
Corentin lives in the mountains, in the French speaking part of Switzerland. He loves to be outdoors; skiing, trekking and climbing. He also loves to ride his bike and works as a bike mechanic in the summer. In the winter he works at a ski station and this is one of the reasons he wants to improve his English, because of the many tourists. He chose Australia for his studies as he also wants to learn to surf whilst here!
Nicolas is from the French speaking part of Switzerland, next to Lake Geneva. In the winter he enjoys skiing, and running, swimming and chilling with friends in the summer. He also likes to play the guitar. He has just finished High School and is now taking a year to travel before starting Psychology at university. He wants to improve his English as it is important for university and travelling. He chose Byron Bay as he was here 2 years ago and loved the peaceful atmosphere.
We also have two returning students joining us today!
Ferran, from Spain, is returning for the third year in a row! As well as our English classes he also takes part in our surf programme with 4 lessons per week. He is joining our Advanced class with Paul.
Fuku, from Japan, is mum to our lovely homestay co-ordinator Koko! She studied with us last October and loved it so much she decided to come back (and to see her daughter of course)! She will be joining Mel’s Intermediate class.
