Michelle’s options class, Film & Music, were treated to a meditation session by student Judit.
The topic of the class was the film Eat, Pray, Love; a film staring Julia Roberts on a quest of self-discovery!
Judit explained meditation to her classmates:
Meditation is an active training of the mind to increase awareness.
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
She also taught them about the origin and the benefits of meditating, such as reducing depression and anxiety, and increasing concentration and awareness.
The class then practiced meditating under Judit’s instructions.
