Brazilian Cooking! 10th May

Today for Brazilian Cooking we made the popular sweet treat Brigadeiros!

They’re really easy to make, the only hard part is having the patience to wait for them to cool down!

I caught quite a few of the students scrapping the saucepans and licking the spoons during this time!

To make 20 brigadeiros you simply mix 15 grams of butter, 1 tin of sweetened condensed milk and 3 table spoons of cocoa powder over medium heat until thickened (it usually takes around 10 minutes).

You then allow them to cool before being able to roll them into balls with your hands and then cover them in toppings/decorations! We used chocolate sprinkles, granulated nuts, shredded coconut and 100s and 1000s candy!

A few of our Brazilian students advised they’re better when they’ve had a chance to harden but most of us just wanted to eat them straight away!

They were absolutely delicious and even after seeing how they’re made I’m convinced they’re still healthy 🙂
