This week we welcome nine new starters to Lexis Byron Bay: Cesare and Luciana from Italy, Lucas from Belgium, Chloe from Korea, Mariko from Japan, Simona, Loan and Julie from Switzerland and Sofie from Sweden.

Cesare has already been in Australia for three weeks. He was travelling but after reaching Byron Bay decided to stay for a while. In Italy, he’s an Interior Design student and needs a good level of English to be able to find work in this field.

Luciana lives in the centre of Rome and works with her parents. All her family, her parents, her brother and her are pharmacists. She wants to improve her English to be able to better help tourists who come into the shop.

Lucas has just finished school in Belgium and will now study English for a total of 36 weeks (18 in Byron Bay and 18 at Lexis Perth). He wants to study Business in Brussels and the course is taught in English so he needs to become fluent. He told me he was a beginner but actually already tested as a strong Intermediate student, so I’m sure he’ll have not problems reaching his goal.

Chloe and Julie are both here to study on the First Certificate Preparation course, which starts next week. Simona, came to Australia with her boyfriend last year and loved it so much she decided to come back. Loan is a ski instructor and chose Byron Bay because of the surf and because it’s a small town. Mariko is here on a working holiday visa and will be looking for a job when her course finishes and, finally, Sofie will study on our full-time IELTS course in September because she needs get an IELTS 6 so she can do six months of her Economics degree in New Zealand.

A big warm welcome to all of you. We hope you have a fabulous time at Lexis and in Byron Bay.
