Today we welcomed four new starters to Lexis Byron Bay; Mayumi from Japan, Omar and Vicente from Spain and Jacapo from Italy.

Mayumi is here on a Working Holiday Visa. She worked in H&M clothing store in Japan for five years and is hoping to do the same job in Australia when she finishes her English studies.

Omar has always dreamed of coming to Australia and now he is here. He is excited about seeing the Australian wildlife and improving his English. In the future he wants to study bio-engineering at university.

Vicente is a seasoned traveller to Australia; this is his third time. He’s doing our English in Action program, which means that he will study English in the morning and have surf lessons in the afternoon.

And finally, for Jacapo, this is his first trip out of Italy. He is very excited to be here and can’t wait to make friends and get involved in the Byron lifestyle. He told me that, in Italy, it’s very important to be able to speak English if you want to get a good job.
