The Falls Music & Art Festival
Falls is a multi day camping event, held over the New Year holiday, featuring bands from around the globe plus dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other art forms.
Byron Bay International Film Festival
Now Australia’s largest regional film festival, the BBIFF showcases feature films, documentaries animation and short films from more than 35 countries.
Bluesfest is Australia’s premiere Blues & Roots Music Festival, featuring more than 200 performances of the best blues, roots, folk, soul and world artists plus camping grounds, licensed bars, undercover food courts and market stalls.
Byron Bay Tri & Multisport Festival
Second Weekend in May
The Byron Bay Triathlon is an Olympic Distance event, which attracts around 1,300 competitors from many different countries. Competitors enjoy a 1.5km ocean swim; a 40km and finally a 10km run. Sprint and Tempter events plus a children’s Aquathon are also held for the younger and more inexperienced.
Splendour in the Grass
Splendour is Australia’s biggest winter music festival, featuring three days full of big name bands.
Byron Bay Writers’ Festival
The Byron Bay Writers’ Festival features the most significant and respected contemporary Australian writers participating in lectures, lunches, panels, conversations, launches and readings.
The Boomerang Festival is a first-of-its-kind, Indigenous festival, featuring an array of music, dance, theatre, comedy, film and visual arts, along with cultural knowledge exchanges and thought provoking conversations. Camping is available at the festival.
Byron Lighthouse Run
The annual Byron Lighthouse Run is a charity event proudly supported by local business. Participants can choose from a 6.7 k walk or a 10 k run
Byron Bay Surf Festival
The annual Byron Bay Surf Festival focuses on the creative culture within surfing and features plenty of amazing surfing plus surf art, music, film, history, workshops, literature, markets, presentations, youth art and swap-meets.
