Last week were were all delighted to hear that our long term student Atsushi Kanazawa passed his FCE examination with a Grade C.
Atsushi (Ash) originally started at Lexis Byron Bay in July. A rugby coach in Japan, he came to Byron Bay on the recommendation of an Australian friend, who is a member of the Lennox Head Rugby Union Club. Byron Bay suits Ash perfectly as he’s a keen surfer and hits the waves 3 or 4 time a week “because it’s perfect here.”
However, although he enjoys his leisure time, Ash’s main reason for coming to Byron Bay was to improve his English for his job. This is why he chose FCE; because he knew he would have to work hard, stay motivated throughout and do lots of homework in order to pass. Earlier today, he told me that he learnt so many new words every day that his vocabulary has really improved and also that his teacher Paul was kind, helpful and very very funny!
Ash told me that he been preparing himself for the worst because he had been nervous on exam day and also found the listening very hard. So last week when he got the result, he was thrilled. Finally, he said ” I wouldn’t have made it without Paul’s help.”
Well done Ash and all his classmates in FCE Sept-Dec 2014.
