There are so many activities to do in Byron and lots of different ways to travel around town – including skate boarding! After class on Tuesday Flavio Biehl, a Byron bay local professional skater, visited Lexis to teach us all how to skate!

Flavio gave great instructions and soon we are all rolling along and learning how to balance, duck down on the board, do ‘tic-tacs’ and wheelies. There were long skate boards as well as short ones, both designed to ride differently.

There were a few falls, but this was definitely outweighed by the fun and laughter.

As it turns out, we have some natural skaters here who picked up the skill and techniques of skating very quickly.
