Volunteers needed: Liberation Larder are a not-for-profit organisation operating in Byron bay. They are in need of some volunteers to help nurture and look after their gardens on Fletcher Street. Bay Insight Meditation presents the teachings of Buddha in the tradition of Insight Meditation. We meet weekly on Tuesdays from 7.15 – 9.00pm at The Temple Byron, 46 Melaleuca Drive.

Open mic @ Byron Brewery. Definitely go along to the Brewery at some stage during your stay in Byron. They have their own beer, food, a bar, and open mic night often has some very talented musicians. It is a relaxed, chilled out and warm atmosphere.

TIP: SCHOOLIES IS STARTING THIS WEEKEND:
Schoolies starts on the 22nd of November. Schoolies is basically when year 12 high school students complete their final exams. Many year 12’s around Australia go for one or two weeks to party, party, party. There are three major places where tens of thousands of students from all around Australia go to celebrate: Gold Coast, Bali and Byron bay. So in the next few weeks you will notice a lot of young people partying around town. There will also be increased numbers of police and very strict security at bars and pubs. Also, be prepared to wait in queues if you are going out late. If you want to know more about the schoolies, click here.
