Volunteers wanted to help care for and beautify Byron bay

Byron bay

Byron bay is a beautiful place that so many people, both locals and tourists alike, really come to love. Many locals are passionate about keeping the town clean, safe from development and are open and welcoming to all visitors. Last year the town Mayor organised a ‘Beautify Byron Day’ where people came together for a few hours, giving the Byron streets a clean up and make over. They will be doing this again on October 19th and are looking for volunteers to get involved. The town Mayor says that Byron Shire Council staff will prepare work areas for tidying up and planting new trees and plants to keep Byron beautiful, leafy and well looked after. If you love Byron and would like to give back to the town, come along and volunteer. It will run from 8.30am – 11am on October 19th. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Railway Gardens. Bring gardening gloves, closed toe shoes, and a bottle of water. You can sign on at www.byron.nsw.gov.au
