Woohoo! The weekend is just around the corner! A few awesome things are happening this weekend in Byron Bay:
Friday
Beach Hotel – Lexis students! Come to the Beach Hotel at 5pm for Happy Hour! Anna will be buying you guys drinks so get in early to make sure you don’t miss out! A great chance to catch up with each other outside of class and start the weekend together.
The Northern – Castlecomer (cool Sydney-based band), Hattie Carroll & Tim Bowen for those who want to kick on to some fun live music
The Railway Hotel – Bohemian Cowboys with Kirk Lorange.
Saturday
Byron Beachside Market is on this Saturday! From 8am – 4pm. I would recommend this one – there are lots of creative people in Byron town and their talents will be on display at this market. There will also be music and entertainment there. At Main Beach (follow the crowds of people)
The Northern – The AFL Grand Final is being screened at The Northern! It is between the Sydney Swans (a NSW team) and the Hawthorn Hawks (a Victorian team). AFL has some very passionate and dedicated supporters. Even though AFL does not have as many followers in NSW (people tend to follow Rugby and NRL in this state) there will be Victorian tourists and people who follow AFL who will be there cheering on their team. This is a classic Aussie tradition. Get in on the Action at the Northern. The game starts at 2.30 but get there before hand to see the onscreen pre-game entertainment.
Treehouse – Melody Moon will be singing there this Saturday night. She has sweet, folk-indie styled music which is a delight to relax and listen to.
Sound Healing – This is a beautiful opportunity to hear unique instrument called the Crystal Armonica. For those of you who are into healing, personal growth and emotional intelligence. This heavenly instrument supposedly has vibrational health benefits. At Temple Byron from 7pm. Tickets are $25. To book call:0424 594 549
Sunday
Brunswick Heads Dunecare. Environmental group who look after the sand dunes around the area. If you love the Byron Bay environment and want to help look after it, call Greg on 0414 457 346. This is also a good opportunity to meet with some of the old time classic Byron locals. Meets this Sunday at the break wall car park 8.30 – 11.30
Treehouse – Relaxing Sunday music from local DJ’s from 2.30pm. Head here for a great Sunday session.
UPCOMING:
There is a really great music festival coming up: The Mullum Music Festival is on November 20 – 23rd. Keep this one in your mind and keep the dates free if you can. There will be lots of dancing outside to great live music with all sorts of people!
