Free Activities in September

activities september 001

Spring has sprung and September’s activity programme is full of fun things to do in the sun.

On Monday, we are having a BBQ to welcome 26 new arrivals, many of whom are here to work extremely hard studying on our FCE and CAE courses. Then on the 24 September there is a Scavenger Hunt starting from Byron Bay’s iconic lighthouse. (For those of you that don’t know, a scavenger hunt is a race to collect various things as quickly as possible and be the first team back.) And then on Friday of the same week, we have a more creative outdoor event with a fabulous Sandcastle-Building Competition. (I wish I could enter that one.)

Another highlight this month is Starrynight Planetarium’s “The Sky at Night” on Tuesday 30 September. This event is always really popular. You can look through a powerful telescope at the night sky and learn all about constellations, planets and how the southern hemisphere differs from the north.

Next week students can look forward to a Table Tennis Competition on Tuesday, Brazilian Cooking on Wednesday and a Big Prize Trivia Quiz on Friday. And, later in the month students can enjoy a Pictionary Tournament and the ever-popular Beer-Tasting Workshop.

Then, of course, we’ve got the regulars; Yoga every Monday, Movie (of your choice) and treats every Thursday, Pronunciation, Vocabulary and Grammar Workshops, Job Club and Coffee Lounge

And remember. All of the above are completely free to Lexis students – full or part time – and a great way to practise your English!
