We are delighted to welcome 10 new students to Lexis Byron Bay on this gorgeous spring day.
Please say hello to (back row from left to right) Yeonsin Lee, Selena Raselli, Daniela Egli, Anja Groeber, Guilherme Affonso Munhoz, Francisco Fontana and Kaede Kato and (front row left to right) Sanghyeok Han (Allen), Dakyung Lee (Mia) and Michael Bieri.
Selena, Daniela, Anja, Francisco and Michael are all from Switzerland. Selena has just finished school and is trying to decide whether she wants to be a kindergarten teacher or a photographer; Daniela works in a shoe shop and enjoys horse-riding; Anja is a volleyball coach and her dream is to become a physiotherapist; Francisco is also very sporty – he likes football, climbing, skiing and snowboarding and he’s looking forward to diving and surfing here in Byron; finally Michael has just finished his national service (which he didn’t enjoy) and is now having a well-deserved holiday!
Allen, Mia and Yeonsin are all from Korea. Allen is studying Economics, loves Harry Potter and chose to study in Australia because he wants to learn British pronunciation; Yeonsin is a social worker who has been studying English in the Philippines; and Mia has been to Byron Bay before and now lives in Lismore with her Australian boyfriend.
Finally, this week we welcome Guilherme from Brazil and Kaede from Japan. Guilherme’s brother came to Australia a few years ago and inspired him to come. He chose Byron Bay because he’s a keen surfer and wants to improve his surfing skills as well as his English. Kaede also came here for the surf. She has joined our English in Action Surfing programme which means she studies English all morning and surfing all afternoon. Her favourite singer is Taylor Swift.
It’s lovely to have so many new students to welcome this week. We hope you have enjoyed your first day at Lexis Byron Bay and have some wonderful times here. Don’t forget the Lexis staff are here to help you, so please pop into the office if you have any problems or questions.
