Free Activities in August

activitie august 001School doesn’t finish when classes do. Remember, every day between 2 and 3pm all students (full or part time) can go to GIL (Guided Independent Learning) or join our activity programme.

This month, we’ve got the usual favourites such as Yoga, Table Tennis and Coffee Lounge, plus some fantastic new events.

We’ve got some interesting Movie Screenings for you this month. This week on Thursday there’s a must-see Planet Earth doco, with free popcorn, then next week there’s animation with free ice-cream and on the 28th a new release with free chips.

Fridays are really exciting all month. Last week was Amy’s awesome Travel Talk about WA. (She used to live there so she knows all the best places.) This week, to celebrate the end of course we have a BBQ, with Paul as our top chef, and then next Friday you can learn to Play the Digeridoo (and hear how it should be played). Finally on the last Friday of the month, there will be a Volleyball Tournament – with prizes in the Lexis courtyard.

Other highlights include Amy making Moroccan Tajine on 20th August and a Poker Tournament on 26th August. I can’t wait to see everyone’s best poker face!

Last but by no means least, we also have lots to offer the serious student of English this month too; two more sessions of Lisa’ popular Grammar Workshop two new Vocabulary Workshops and two of Paul’s extremely useful Pronunciation Workshops. You can also get help with CVs, cover letters, interview technique and tax file numbers with Amy at Job Club, every second Wednesday.
