What’s On for the Long Weekend?

“Welcome to the Easter long weekend!!

The major event this weekend is of course Bluesfest! In its 25th year, Bluesfest is a phenomenal local festival that celebrates blues, rock, folk, reggae, doowop, soul and so much more!! The festival runs from Thursday night through to Monday night, and features artists such as Jack Johnson, Booker T Jones, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Steve Earle, India Arie, Matt Corby, Morcheeba and many many more!! The Beards are a personal favourite of mine J

Tickets are still available for some days – buy them from http://www.bluesfest.com.au/pages/?ParentPageID=44&PageID=69 and some limited Friday day tickets will be held on the door from 10am on Friday morning.

Shuttle buses will be running from Byron and Suffolk Park – $5 each way – the buses run every 20 minutes from 5pm until 12.30am. Check out timetables here: http://www.bluesfest.com.au/pages/?ParentPageID=46&PageID=130

And if Bluesfest isn’t your thing, don’t miss Rabbits Eat Lettuce – an amazing electronic music festival out in the bush about 130km out of Byron! See http://www.rabbitseatlettuce.com.au/ for more info – this is an amazing rave that has been running for about 6 years now, and people travel from all over Australia to attend! It’s a camping festival in an awesome setting.
