This Friday we said farewell to Momoko,Takashi and Fabian. The lovely Momoko has been here for a month after transferring from Lexis Brisbane. Since arriving in Byron Bay her English has improved greatly and she has also built her confidence through her close relationship with teacher Karen and making many wonderful and inspiring friends. Takashi joined us for only a short visit and is now returning to Japan to start a new job, while Fabian is heading off on round-Australia travels. Goodbye everyone!

Surf’s Up!
A Whale of a Time!
Lexis students were lucky enough to see humpback whales breach right up close while kayaking in the Bay this week!
It was a beautiful clear day on Thursday and our students paddled out into the bay for a kayaking adventure. A pod of dolphins joined us for a surf and we were lucky enough to see a whale breach less than fifty metres away from the boats. Amazing!
Friday Graduation Fun!
Longstanding students David and Carmen graduated today after six months at Lexis Byron Bay. Carmen and David both started with very little English and have today graduated at Upper Intermediate level! They are both working here in Byron Bay and hope to make Australia their permanent home. Great work guys!

We also said farewell to Stacy, Shohei and Hiroki. Shohei is heading back to university in Japan and Hiroki is off to work on a farm for three months but is planning to come back to school if he is able to renew his visa!

Welcome to Lexis English Byron Bay – Springtime!
Yesterday we welcomed 30 new students from a diverse range of countries to our Spring program and we celebrated with a BBQ and beers in the Byron sunshine.
A united nations of students from Spain, Brazil, Switzerland, Taiwan, Japan and Korea enjoyed the festivities and then they all headed off to the beach together to have a swim and continue the party with their new friends.
Friday Graduation
This week we farewelled another group of wonderful students, including some members of our IELTS class.
Japanese graphic designer Sunny will be continuing his travels throughout Asia and the Phillippines before heading home.

The gorgeous Albert came to Australia as a complete beginner and graduated today at Upper Intermediate level. Well done Albert!
Spanish architect Jorge has been here for 12 weeks, studying for his IELTS qualification. Jorge is hoping to settle permanently in Australia and is off to Sydney to find a job.

And finally we said farewell to the very charismatic Jack who certainly made the most of his time in Byron.

TOLEDO TWOSOME FIND WORK IN BYRON BAY!
Our sparkling Spanish couple, Carmen and David have secured work at Aabi’s Deluxe Apartments – directly across the road from Lexis English Byron Bay as live-in cleaners and caretakers of this beautiful abode!
“We are working for free accommodation at Aabi’s deluxe apartments. We found it advertised on the Lexis student’s noticeboard. We called Aabis, then we did training and finally we got the job!”
