MACADAMIA CASTLE VISIT

Lexis Byron Bay visited a local Byron shire attraction on Thursday 22nd September 2011: The Macadamia Castle! A group of 12 students, plus Michelle and Vee (our trusted driver) had a great afternoon wandering through the native gardens, feeding an abundance of native birds and viewing a variety of native and farm animals and snakes and reptiles. The most fun was had when we all had the chance to pick up the baby chickens (chicks) and the baby rabbits (bunnies). We also got to see an Eastern Brown Snake – one of the most deadly in the entire world and see some Kangaroos amongst the trees.

Students Spring into the Farmers Market

Intermediate students hit the Byron farmers market this morning to enjoy the first sunny day of spring. Students had a great time checking out the local produce as well as practising their English in a real context – interviewing local shoppers and finding out from growers about their different products….and doing some shopping!
