October Ping Pong Championship

Twelve very skillful and very keen students giving it their all to see who was this months Ping Pong Champion.

Yudai and Marc warmed up before the championship began whilst Erika, Kai, Federica and Stefan took a more relaxed approach by taking in the fresh Byron Bay air.

In total there were 11 games played before we hit the Grand Final between Jun and Gustavo.  Both men gave it their all but it was Jun who won this month’s championship  15 points to 13 points. Well done Jun and to everyone who participated. Practice has already begun for next month so watch out Jun!

Cape Byron Lighthouse Tour

It was an amazing afternoon for the girls of GV Byron Bay who enjoyed a tour of the Cape Byron Lighthouse.

The GV girls had a great time in and around the Lighthouse. The 30 minute tour was very informative as well as fun. We saw a shark from high up in the lighthouse. Andy the tour guide confirmed this but Nadia was adamant that it was a sea turtle, she did come around though after watching it for a short time. It was a perfect way to end a hard day of study!!

Salsa / Latin Dancing Takes Over GV Byron Bay

Its all in the hips and in the way you move and groove…

Maddy showed us all how to get down and groove to the sweet sounds of Salsa and Latin music last week. There were a few left feet to begin with but as the lesson progressed so did our skill level. Marion danced up a storm with Jun, whilst Carla and Kai heated things up with a bit of hip swinging..  Thank you Maddy for showing us how it’s done. We are all looking forward to the next lesson!

Lamington Fun

Who would have thought that making lamingtons would be so much fun. Everyone who took part enjoyed getting down and messy!

There was no holding back when the students were told that they would have to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. It was all smiles especially when it came to eating the end product!!

Anyone For Cricket

Nothing like finishing a day of study off with a nice friendly game of Cricket here at GV Byron Bay.

Yudi and Pedro started the game off with a few head high throws and baseball style hitting but after a quick lesson they both eased into the game as if they had grown up playing it. Gustavo was extremely enthusiastic and showed great talent in his bowling technique. Kai caught a few rippers, whilst Pedro with his awesome batting power hit the ball up on to the roof a number of times. It was a very fun game combined with a lot of laughter. Watch out next month as we will take the game onto the beach and into the water!!

Friday BBQ in the Sun

What better way to end the week but with a sausage or two with friends and fellow students whilst enjoying the glorious Byron Bay weather.

,

Friday 2nd October at 2pm saw the end of the week and the beginning of the long weekend here at Global Village Byron Bay.

Sausages and burgers were on the menu with all the students pitching in. Yudai and Mori cooked up a storm with Pedro, Gustavo and Moon watching on.  Some students collected surf boards from the office to hit the waves whilst others played ping pong and chatted the afternoon away. It was a very relaxing afternoon in the sun. There was also excitement in the air as students spoke about their trip to Brisbane for a fun filled weekend of shopping, sight seeing and partying…. From what I have been told all had a great time in the big smoke of Brisvegas.
