Christmas Decoration Making! (morning). 19 December

We’re getting into the festive spirit here in Lexis Byron Bay this week with some Christmas-themed activities. Today’s was Christmas Decoration Making!

We set out to make a beautiful decoration for the tree, which required cardboard, wool, fancy paper, scissors, glue and straight pins. We also had some optional extra bits like wood beads, silver beads and wire.

We started out by gluing our two cardboard squares together. The next step was to stick pins in all the corners, followed by wrapping the wool around each of the pins.

You repeat the steps, moving inwards until all the corners of the card are covered and you end up with a beautiful star shape!

Check out some of the beautiful decorations made by Islania and Orla!

The countdown to Santa’s arrival is on! Is your Christmas tree up yet? 🙂

For afternoon Coffee Club, we met in the same place, at 2pm. We again enjoyed some coffees, Tim-Tams and Uno – all while being serenaded by Eric and his renditions of Abba songs!! 🙂 Thanks Eric 😉

This time next week we will all be enjoying Christmas Day and the week after will be New Years Day so our next Coffee Club will be January 8th 2019!! See you then! 🙂

Morning Surf Lesson! 13 December

Yesterday, we all hit the beach for our surf lesson! It was quite a windy day but there were still plenty waves to catch 🙂 Our lesson was with Let’s Go Surfing and we started out at their shop first, where everyone got their wetsuits. From there, everyone got fitted to the right long board and we headed off to the beach to begin our lesson!

Once everyone was clear on the basic steps, it was time to hit the waves!

Keep an eye on the Lexis activity calendar to see when we will have our next surf lesson and be sure to sign up at reception! 🙂
